I am down to one key and want to get a spare.
The local dealer sells blanks...
Can most lock-smiths cut the blank from my original? ( Home Depot )
Anyone have any experience with this?

Anybody that cuts key should be able to cut it. I know a real locksmith should also have the blanks, I'm not sure about Home depot.

I had to go to a locksmith since only they had the blank. $4 instead of $2. I had 2 made, just in case. Anyone can cut the blanks.

We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

I'd go to a regular locksmith instead of Home Depot also. Real locksmith tried several different blanks and duplicated my ignition key, couldn't do steering lock though.

Had to get mine at Triumph dealer, who happens to ahve a locksmith on-site. I was told by a local lock-smith that they could not do the steering lock key because it was steel and would ruin his cutter?

By the way, check the tech vault, parts cross-reference, for cheaper key blanks.

I bought my blank from the dealer ($12)
Took it to a local hardware store and they cut it for free

I go to parties, sometimes untill 4. It's hard to leave when you can't find the door.
