has anyone yet to figure out if these provide any function? kinda like the look but still not sure if it works with my bike. if it served more than for just looks it may change my mind

Does styling count as a function? They seem to be just for looks.

I have one. Looks real good and keeps alot of crap fron getting on that hard to clean area of the engine. I think it may redirect a little more air over the oil cooler as well.

keeps clean starter motor ,engine bottom and front of engine ...I know it pricey but I got my from ebay half price but they rare on ebay

I had seen one on another bike. My used SM came with one and I was glad. It's a pretty easy cleanup and I happen to like the looks a lot.
