but for the greater good I'd have to side with the moderators. It ain't Big Brother by any means, so if we mind our P's and Q's it's all good.
Didn't catch this thread 'til now. Consider my Ps and Qs (re)minded. Well, I don't have a Q, but if I did, she'd be getting a talking to right now.
Thanks for all you do, Moderators. I apologize if I have tread on anyone's comfort zone.
OK, I've got my jacket, it's back OUTSIDE!

Being a rather newbie to the site, I totally appreciate the values and guidelines of this site. In this day and age, we can look around at the falling values and morals of our world and disappointingly our country. It is nice to know there is a corner we can come to that has a little sanity left in its purpose. Kudo's to all that work on this site, happy Father's day to all and Have a good ride today if it is not wet. Thank u.

This is in reply to the dictatorship, totalitarian nonsense; Unfortunately you are wrong, yet right. Freedom is never free my friend, but decision making is. Laws are set to deter caos, yet our youth think they are totalitarian in nature. They are only asking to make the right decisions on this site that is the law, if you make the wrong decision by your own free will then you and only you is wrong. Some people, cultures and businesses is getting tired of their own derilic members mucking up the water and doing things in bad taste. We should have the right to tighten the noose on those running out of rope.

(at this rate the Mods are gonna have us all here able to walk into any tea time social and fit right in)
the whole point is you should all be able to walk into tea time on your own without us holding your hand
(I'm thinkin' Benny here either isn't into Earl Grey or Orange Peeko...OR the idea of holding my hand is kind of a "turnoff" for the guy)
I'm guessin' the latter...RIGHT BENNY?!

It's a benevolent dictatorship.... but it is, in the end, totalitarian.
I lived through a dictatorship (1967-1974) when I was very very young and always think of the following when I read the above on this site:
I wish all dictatorships were like this.
Me too (Margret Thatcher) thats why originally left UK
Much better here in oz
Only trouble is the oz guys here dont seem as well organised ias uk and usa

I have met Benny and Mert both seem nice and reasonable people can't speak about the rest (we all know about friarjohn ) I agree they seem in no way prudes. As one of the offenders at times I see the reasoning and agree with it to not go off topic too far in the tech discussions. On that same note I have seen many of the off topic exchanges turn into very valuable info. Would be a shame to lose that and should definately be posted if not in the same thread then in a different one. I myself have taken to making myself more clear in PM instead of posting everything.

I agree, tangents can become usefull. That's one of those times to start fresh with a new thread, even reference the original thread.
