OK, I've been reading through all the posts, but I just need a definitive answer (I'm afraid I may already know the answer):
Since the Memphis Fats, Slims, and sports-shields are out for the 2007's; are there ANY options for a quick-release type windshield for my 07 Speedy? I sure hate the way windshields look, but I hate eating gravel for more than a few hours even more.
Thanks.

Hey Benny, Only other company that offers a quick release is National Cycle's Switchblade...but then again, they don't list the Triumph Speedy or America. May give them a call, but I think your kind of at the mercy of what Triumph offers. (Not that that is a bad thing!) Anybody ever hears of some options let me know! But right now the only thing I have found for fit is the Memphis Shades Handle Bar mount. (That I can get) other companies such as Slipstreamer has stuff too (I can get some of their stuff) OK now I have to start digging again... eddy eddy

If you hold on a bit someone will figure out which Memphis mounts will work with the 07's. I'm pretty sure some legwork was done before we had the right part number for the earlier bikes. It wasn't me though, someone here already had the answer by the time I bought mine.
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

What we know: * Memphis will fit the bikes with the older (not 07) style fork shrouds. Seems the tapered shrouds are new to 07. You can acquire the older shrouds and put em on then get the Memphis. * National technically doesnt make anything to fit our bikes. I sent numerous sets of measurements to them (w shrouds, w/o shrouds, inquired about older shrouds, etc...). They stick to their guns that nothing will work with our bikes. Then I see a pic of one with a Natl Cycle switchblade. The owner of the pic confirmed, I asked if he had model #s and never got a reply (must have been alien abduction or the CIA). * Windvest can be removed pretty quickly (four bolts) but your left with the mounting bar still on the bike. Not ugly but not pretty and stealthy like I beleive we want. I got tired of brick walls so I stopped looking for a while and settled on a used Windvest. At some point Ill start up again but anyone else is more than welcome to inquire. Just share what you find...pretty please

Memphis Shades also makes models like the Duece (and others) that use a handle bar style mount. You might want to check out some of the Memphis Shades models that are handle bar mount and quick release. These would definitely fit on the 07 bikes.
The Windvest isn't really a quick release mount. Almost any windshield can be removed with 4 screws, but what does what's left look like?

I thought these looked pretty cool http://www.sportechinc.com/prod_cruiser.aspx I haven't tried them but they should fit our bikes, and they look like they come off real easy. later Joe

Those Billet Series look a lot like the Windvest mounting system.

I have a Windvest...very nice. I guess you could consider it a quick release. Just an Allen and a few moments and it's off.
