Hey, all.

I'll be vacationing with the family on Holden Beach in North Carolina in mid July.

Any recommendations for renting a motorcyle in the general area? I'm not really particular to a specific brand, although I would love to rent a Rocket.

Back Roads Triumph is in Jacksonville, NC. But that's a pretty good drive from Holden, about 90+ miles.

You're going to be closer to Myrtle Beach, SC (about an hour). I think the Myrtle Beach Harley dealership rents bikes. There are some other places in Myrtle Beach that will rent too. I don't have that contact info, though. (shouldn't be too hard to find)

I too will be in Holden in mid-July with the family. You should just ride down on your bike. Thats what my dad and I are going to do. Having the rest of the family carry all the beach stuff in the van. There are some nice back roads to take most of the way.

I go to parties, sometimes untill 4. It's hard to leave when you can't find the door.

Thanks, all. I've got 4 kids to help with on a long, long drive. Riding is out of the equation. But renting for a few days is feasable.

Will, Back Roads Triumph rents Triumphs?

There is a Triumph-BMW dealer in Wilmington, down the street from the Harley shop. They also own the Back Roads in Jacksonville. I'm not sure if they rent bikes but if you want I can get the contact info for you. I'm going to Back Roads Triumph today infact to look for a T-shirt, I'll ask if they do rentals.

I talked to Ivan at Backroads and he said that neither they nor does Cape fear bmw (a triumph dealer as well) does rentals. Too bad. They are supposed to be having some kind of demo day w/ a RIII and a Scrambler some time in July though.

Back Roads Triumph: 910-347-4050
-Jacksonville

Cape Fear BMW (&Triumph): 910-202-0269
-Wilmington

Victory Wilmington Powersports: 910-251-3733
-Wilmington

Carolina Coast H-D: 910-791-9997
-Wilmington, they do have rentals

Good luck and Have fun in eastern NC!!! I'd love to meet up w/ you for a ride while your here but unfortunately/fortunately, I'm not sure, will be moving to Guam in a few weeks. Ride safe!

Thanks for the info! Might have to look into the V-Rod...or renting a scooter from somewhere.

Oak Island Motorsports is like 30 miles from Holden Beach. As the bird flies it is about 10 miles.
