Why is it that bad luck always afflicts multiple vehicles at the same time? It may be Murphy's law but my theory is that the gremlins that cause these various mishaps travel in packs and smell contentment and then swoop in to take it all away. My latest example...

All 4 of my vehicles are running great for the first time since winter storage. I've got my daily driver (Suzuki station wagon), my 72 MG Midget, my 98 Sprint, and of course the BA.

So what happens last week?

I get the BA back from service at the dealer and now it dies when I pull up to stoplights...

The Midget's hard to reach clutch slave cylinder decided to go bye-bye...

The Sprint tips over in the parking lot at work and hits a pole, smashing the gas tank...

Maybe I'll get one of those gremlin bells and attach it to some wind chimes for my carport. Maybe an exorsism. Hey, couldn't hurt.

I can't be the only one the come after, right?

Install a Helmholtz Resonator, the oscillations will render the Gremlins unable to communicate, thus leaving you alone, worked for me.

Well Jonathan, look at it this way...at LEAST none of those little devils did anything to the "prize" of your collection here...that "very cool" Suzuki Station Wagon.

(there's always a silver-lining to every cloud, you know)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

2 weeks ago i thought my water heater was leaking. turns out it was the cold water supply to my upstairs bathroom, which damaged the kitchen ceiling, And 2 feet of 3 inch cast iron waste pipe which was in a wall in my utility room (the wall is now in the landfill) had rotted out, And the condensation tray in the air conditioning unit in my furnace had rusted through. so yeah, i'd say they travel in packs!! the water heater is fine, knock wood!!
