Any feed back on mods for short TOR's? I've read lots of posts for gutting, baffeling, drilling etc on stock or aftermarket pipes, so I got to looking at my pipes and they look like one long perforated baffel in the centre. I am assuming that they are a glass pack around the baffel?

I don't really like my neighbours so I was thinking of "modding" my pipes. I had an idea of getting some thin wall pipe that just fits in the bafffel to "bypass" some of the glass pack. Or I could try to remove the weld and pull out the baffel, then remove some of the glass pack and reinstall the baffel. Or gut them entirely?

I am looking for someone with experience trying something like this who could point me in the right direction? I don't want to mess up my pipes and have to buy another set. I am assuming as well that since I have "straight" pipes that I shouldn't need to rejet afterwards?

Any help would be great. The critics (aka noise police) can move on to the next thread Thanx.

I have a set of those and in my experience of gutting pipes over the years they looked to me like they could be problematic.A small baffle plate with a short pipe running through isn't bad to remove. A long tube with a few plates could be a problem. Depends what is holing that long tube in.So far I have steered clear of gutting those and wouldn't recommend it as your first venture.

They pop right out with the right combination of force and finess - I can't say I like the sound though - It's kinda like farting in a megaphone. That's just MO. Whatever floats your boat is good.

It looks to me like the one end is just slid in and a tack weld holds the other end, so it can't slide out or rattle around?
