To those that have removed their valves, talk to me. What tool did you use?

Part #'s would help!

If you have a drill press, a small spark plug socket that you can cut up and a buddy, you can use all that to change the springs. That's what we did at my buddy's Harley shop. Cut two slots in the end of the socket, on opposite sides, about a half-inch deep and 3/8 wide. This gives you two "tabs" on the end of the socket that are big enough to push the spring retainer down while still having enough access through the slots to get at the keepers. Of course, some poor schlub has to hold the cylinder head at the proper angle while you work the press and fiddle with the keepers. Oh, you also need something to rest the valve face on to keep the valve from opening. I don't remember what his looked like, some sort of a little stand.

Probably easier just to drop the $120.

Why are you removing your valves? Does it have anything to do with your oil loss at the Ga. rally?

if life gives you lemons keep them because hey, free lemons.
