Folks, what do you suppose a person would find if he were to cut off the end of the 07 pipes? I was bidding on a set on ebay and decided anything over 200 was too much for me. I viewed the pipes being sold and they looked like 07 type stock with a bit of the bevel left but had been sawn off for removal of the baffel. The sound track provided sounded pretty good to me. Any thoughts?

PM Bucky, he's chopped the ends off the tapered pipes.
This should have been posted in "Exhaust". Uncle Charlie

Do you know if the internals come out with the end being lopped off?

Dogg_33 has cut up a bunch of them and Dinqua has the process with pics on this site. From waht I understand of it, pretty easy to make a set of cannons from it.
2002 Bandit 1200/ GSXR cams/ 1277 BB Kit/ Holeshot header and can/ 38mm flatslides/ a good head/lotsa hp/lotsa tq- lots of rear tires...

Very easy. I in fact have a set like that on my Speedmaster right now. Have to leave a small part of the taper or cut them pretty darn short since leaveing part of the taper is behind that last baffle and if you cut where the taper starts you will be cutting directly into the baffle plate. I never personally did a set of 07 pipes so it is possible they changed things inside since the 07 has the catalyst. The catalyst is held in by a steel pin and is soft so don't beat on it it will just smush closed. If you use a chisel or air hammer on the first baffle keep it off the edge a little so you don't catch the mesh on the inner wall.
Edit: I cut the taper off with a horizontal band saw.

Dog_33, Cowboy, Thanks for the info. I will look for the sata on the site. I have bought several sets of pipes (D&D's, TOR shorts) and I would like to have the longer pipes!! I had looked into lengthening my D&D's but almost bought a set of pipes like mine off the internet when i noticed they looked just like mine but cut off. Again, thanks!
