Hi ordered the corbin front and pillion for my TBA on arrival some items asked for were wrong. (shops falt for not tcking correct boxs on order form. anyway sent them back. I ordered both seats in smooth black leather, when i looked at them i could not tell if they were leather or not , seemed more like man made same sort of looking as the stock seats, yes i had a smell of them as well and could not smell that distigtive leather smell either. looking at some photos of other corbins in photo gallarys here they also seemed to look lighter in colour than those in the photos and even those on the corbin web site. not as black. perhaps they darken up with some leather conditioner over time. i just dont know ? can anyone who as these corbins advise me so i can check im getting what i ordered when the replacements come in. or if this is how they are when new. im baffled. Many thanks and safe riding our there

Herbz, Here are my 2 cents worth. I have the smooth Corbins front and rear and yes they are leather. You can definitely tell the difference from the factory seat. I treat mine at least monthly and they do take to the oil nicely. A vinyl seat won't absorb the treatment like the leather does. When I apply the treatment you can watch it soak in as well. I never could smell the "leather" either but, then again the seats aren't closed in like the leather in a car to keep the smell in. Generally the smell is a bi-product of the tanning process. I think you will be quite happy with them when you get your problems resolved. They ride nicer and stay firmer. Makes for a great ride over a longer haul. IMO!

herbz, I'm sorry to hear of your discontent with your Corbin seat. With me, they delivered it early, and I was quite satisfied with the seat. It is supposed to be a firm seat, and the leather is first quality. I keep mine conditioned with "Kiwi Mink oil." Also, as the picture below depicts, the color is jet-black. -BT
"Speedmaster" is a title not a name, - and the title is not plural.

Mine didn't smell like leather either but I love it and wouldn't trade it in for anything, and I've only had it on for a month.
Funny thing is they will deliver to you in Australia but won't to me here in Canada? I'm politely upset know.

Love my Corbins. Can't ride without them (pillion too). I got the standard TBA package (almost matches the Triumph backrest).

When my first Corbin was new... it was awful. Hard as a rock..not comfortable at all. Then, like 2 months later... it took shape. It was perfect.
Now, my new Corbin is 1 month old... still hating it. But, I know to be patient.

The stock Speedmaster seat and the Triumph touring seat both had my tailbone in pain by 50 miles, not nearly enough lateral support. Got a Corbin, huge improvement - I'd strongly recommend it, especially for larger riders. Still not perfect though, I'm waiting for the full break-in period to see if it softens up a bit; I'd rate mine a little too hard yet, still can't go all day. If it's not softened any in another month I'll consider tweaking it. Still a vast improvement; I'd still strongly recommend it.
Had some trouble with Corbin during the ordering process too, but have heard others rave about their customer service. The fact that you can send it back for free adjustments is impressive. This is my second bike with a Corbin.

Have both the rider seat and pillion best improvment I have made to the bike my wife says the corbin pillion is 1000% better than the stock seat. I find it makes the bike feel better as well as more comfortable.
