I tried searching the posts, but couldn't find what I know I've read before...anyway...got a mercury carb tuner. I know how to hook it up and how to make adjustments. My problem is the parts to it. There are 4 small plastic cab looking pieces that I take are the line restrictors. There are also 4 brass fittings threaded on one end with a nut and O-ring. Can anyone tell me where these things go? Do we even use the brass fittings? Which way do the restictors go in...closed end towards the carbs or away from them? I don't want to guess it wrong and end up with mercury all in my engine. Wish the instruction page on the web site had pics...I'm kind of a visual learner. Thanks...

I had the same questions for my friend when I borrowed his (Which, by the way I still have, thanks for reminding me to return it!! Ok there's 4 or so black round things with small pin-like things. They are actually plugs, not restrictors. I think the restrictors are white and probably already installed in the lines.... The plugs go in the two lines you are NOT using to help hold the vacuum. The brass fittings are for bikes that don't have nipples like ours. That help?! If you need more specific questions I'll go snap a pic in the garage for ya.

Actually, I had to cut the line per instructions and the white restrictors came in a bag with the brass fittings. I know I read in a post that they have to go in a certain way, but for the life of me can't find the post.

Ok well at least you know you don't have to use the brass fittings!! Just looked at it. I can't see any directionality to the restrictors, but then again, they are already installed... I also don't remember a post about them going in a certain way, just they they have to BE in is all... I could be wrong tho.

I don't know if you can tell, but one end of the restrictor is closed with a small pin hole in it. The other end is completely open. I need to know if the pin hole end is towards the carb end of the tube or toward to tuner end of the tube.

Not sure if it is the same as the Morgan Carbtune, but the restrictors on mine go toward the end of the hose closest to the carb, 10cm from the end that plugs up to the carbs. Probably won't make a difference which way, since it should be a simple orifice to restrict flow. But the manufacturer website may have downloadable instructions, lots do anymore.

The four white plastic restrictors go in at the gauge end of the tubes. You only need two of them and two lines of course. I cut a small length of tube and connected the center two tubes together. I used the two outside tubes to run the plastic tubeing with the restrictors. The directions didnt tell which way to insert the restictors. I put mine about an inch into the tube with the large opening facing outward or towards the gauge. The other parts are for bikes with out ports that ours already have. Mine works so I assume its put together mostly right.
