Is there anywhere on the net that I can find an exploded diagram of the Triumph America 790cc engine? Have noticed an oil leak near one of the covers and would like to see if there is anything under it. Does anyone know where I can find that diagram?

I don't know of anywhere to get the diagram on the net other than buying a OEM manual or Haynes Manual. If you plan on doing work DIY, it is a well worth while investment. I have the OEM others have the Haynes and others have both. If the budget is tight, the Haynes is a lower price and can be purchased here: New Speedmaster

Okay. This cover is right under the drive sprocket and just above the right hand exhaust pipe. It has leaked before but I was wondering what's under it and if I take it off will anything drop out. I just want to replace the gasket to make it oil tight.

That's the gearchange mechanism cover. Nothing will fall out if you remove it. You might want to just re-torque the bolts to 9nm first.

Look at the source and make sure it's not just chain oil. Mine gets some dribbles in that area, but it's not a leak just excess oil from the chain/chain cover

Facing forward - is it on your right side? If so, the suggestion that it's chain oil/wax is probably spot on. I wouldn't rip anything apart until you rule that out. I'm a heavy waxer (I said waxer, folks - as in chain wax ) and I get that all the time.
