A friend sent me this. The guy did a remarkable job on this Charger. I think I'm going do a spare tank and see how it comes out. Mike Sr. http://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/show...part=1&vc=1(fixed the URL, Mike)

I did a 69 ford bronco using "Federal Safety Yellow" Rustolium thined and sprayed thru a WAGNER POWER PAINTER it actually came out very 'Orange peely' but leveled out very well....I dont think i would use it for anything else except solid colors(no metalics candys pearls ect) ....but it really wasnt that bad...paint the whole truck with 2 quarts cost about $12.00...finished it off with rattle can flat black hood stripes and side accents...looked pretty dammm good!!! called it the "bumble bee"

That's a good idea Rob! So basically what the guy did, except using a power sprayer rather than a roller?

Link is fixed, scroll down about halfway for the guy Mike is talking about. The pics look great. Check this out:

I was STUNNED at the quality I got from the paint...and this guy isn't blowing smoke the stuff is dammm near indestructable...I was young and broke so wagner and rustolium was the ticket...federal yellow because that was the only color (other than white) that they had two quarts of...I had forgotten all about it till I saw this...too funny that had to be 20 years ago...

My dear old dad paited a couple of work trucks with enamel. A red one looked good because he took his time. The second was just OK cause he was a lot older and didn't work much on it. He said back in the 30's and 40's all cars were painted with enamel, oil base. He used gasoline for a thinner (not recommended) and a devill bliss spray gun. Did it in the open drive way.

That is awesome. I am listening to the Eagles, "New Kid in Town" while doing my corporate reports, and that song just fits this picture for some reason. New, old kid or something to that effect!
