Have always been a Guzzi fan, I've owned three of them over the years. Next week will be the fifteenth anniversary of having my beloved Eldorado wiped out at a toll booth. I decided last year after the New York rally that I wanted a bigger cruiser. Have been contemplating a Rocket, going with the Corbin fairing and bags. Perhaps waiting on the much rumored mid size model that Triumph is supposed to come out with but then I find this... my heart be still. Maybe you have to be a Guzzi fan, but this thing is calling me.... will ya'll still talk to me? 2007 Moto Guzzi California Vintage

Thats a sweet ride. My uncle had a couple Guzzis. They ride very nice. I wouldn't mind having one myself.

I keep staring at that Guzzi picture....can't stop. Very nice. I might have to do some research on that.
I was at the Indianapolis Triumph dealer the other day to look at a Tiger...I will say the Victory bikes are sharp ($$$$). All the Triumphs looked EXTREMELY nice.
Also waiting for new Triumph Models to be announced (big twin).

Nice lookin' bike! I do have to ask though - how well is the Moto Guzzi company performing? My local dealer said he got out of Moto Guzzi because they were having a lot of quality control and supply problems coupled with a horrible of recalls....

Baxter Cycle got out of the Guzzi business because they were losing money on them. It seems that once riders buy them they keep them forever and almost never return to the dealer. Apparently there is an internet forum where they swap information and have made avoiding the dealer an art form. Hmmm…. Whoda thunk it??
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

glazer,
I almost bought a Guzzi (pronounced "gootsie"). I was enamored with the dry clutch and an automotive inspired bell housing. With distinctly separate transmission fluid and crankcase oil there is no shared particulates.
The same is true with the BMW boxer motor also.
Enjoy,

I'm in a pitched battle right now for the title of "Most Unique Bike in Helena" with a Guzzi rider. We both have one-of-a-kind bikes in town as far as I know. Then I saw an Ariel at a car show this weekend. RATS. Of course, then there's the one W650 in town...

Have you checked out the Guzzi, Norge, Glazer? That is one sweet bike. Much more comfortable then the Triumph, Sprint in my opinion.

I've always liked the looks of the Guzzis. Though i must confess, i prefer their sport bikes to their cruiser. The 850 Le Mans MK1, II are still im my eyes some of the nicest sport bikes ever made.
But that Guzzi Crusier is one fine looking machine.

Steven, Don't be rediculous - of course we'll talk to ya. But that Corbin fairing rattles like a snake! I rode a Star Stratoliner with one - very loud rattle.

I saw the exact model at the dealer in Vegas a couple weeks ago. They were cleaning it for the new owner - sold right out of the crate. It was beautiful. I'd talk to you....to ask if I could ride it!
I'm in Chicago now for the next couple weeks...where's the best place to check out bikes here?

There's an 03 California thats been sitting a few blocks down the street from me for sale for going on 18 months. I saw the guy riding it for the first time in at least a year the other day. It sits there with a for sale sign and the guy wont budge in price. He wants like 7G and it's the fugliest California I've ever seen. I love those bikes. Almost bought one a few years back.
I bet he's pretty motivated by now. Maybe I'll make him another offer.

Isn't that just a pretty scoot begging to be ridden? Love the look of the windscreen.

It's even nicer "in-person". Winchester Motorsports in VA had one on the floor and it really caught my eye. Price was a bit steep pushing $15k. Don't know for sure, but the owner of the place says it's a retro of a '71 Guzzi police cruiser the CHP used to ride. It was the only bike on the floor that I really liked (including the '07 Thairumph twins).
Regards,
Tom

EADGBE, I don't know if we have what you would call the definitive bike shop around here... they all have their pros and cons. Chicago Cycle on Touhy in Skokie have a ton of bikes on the floor. They handle just about every Jap bike there is plus Ducati and Big Dog. Decent accessories department too. There is a Beemer dealer south of there on Western, owned by the Harley dealer next door no less. Old Town motorcycle is a small shop on Wells street... they are connected to the Triumph dealer in Joliet. Don't have a lot of bikes on the floor though for sure, more of a litte boutique shop if you will. Then theres Motoworks at 19th and Western, not a lot of new bikes but there service and storage department is like a museum in itself, they do sell Vespa's though.... lovely little turquoise jobby with chrome bits on it that caught my eye. Now as far as the Guzzi, glad you all seem to like it... I am going to try and get down to Joliet this weekend and check it out, dealer shows one as being on the floor. After I posted this I was reminded that I lost my Eldorado 19 years ago, right before I met the wife... guess I must have lost the last four years, that happens right? My Eldorado was a '73, ex police bike... still had the light mast on the azz end when I got it. As far as maintenance goes... my other two for all appearances seemed indestructable. The Eldo I had the motor rebuilt on and only managed to put about ten thousand miles on it before it got totalled but what a beautiful bike for cruising. Was excellent around town too, thing had a flywheel in it that must have weighed 30 lbs.... you could practically sit through an entire red light and never put your feet down. I've wanted to get another one ever since. May see if they would be interested in taking my old Daytona in on trade, or selling it outright so I can keep the America. Would like to rip into it and do a bunch of stuff I have been thinking about but didnt want to go without my ride for any time. Oh and pity about the Corbin fairing on the Rocket, that is twice now I have heard of it as being and extremely expensive piece of cr@p.
