just home from hartford hospital, just a tab beat up but it appears i will survive.

Physicle damage , 4 broken ribs left side, broken collar bone left side, and temporal skull fracture.no i was not wearing a helmet,(that will never happen again) small spots of road rash hear and there.and raccoon eyes.

damage to bike, handle bars appear tweeked, left side mirror trashed, left side drving light trashed, headlihgt ring trashed, left side saddle bag torn up.trashed front fender.light bar bent. thats all i could see just now givung it a quick once over, dont think i will be riding until ribs heal any way.

ok now what happened.... i have no clue. i road back and forth to work saterday morning as usual,, then out for a bit saterday afternoon, then at about 5 i decided to hit the bank and gas her up for sunday morning. last thing i remember was leaving gas station, then waking up on board life star helicopter enroute to hartford hospital, what happened between gas station and helecopter ride is a complete blank.

today at around 1 pm nurse brought me a stack of about 50 print outs of get well messages from people at ba.com then at about 4 a friut basket was also delivered from BA.com god bless all of you i was discharged from hospital at 6;00 pm.

You MISSED the HELICOPTER RIDE???!!!

NOW do ya see why wearing that darn brain bucket(sounds like you do now) is the right thing to do???!!!

You missed "enjoying" that friggin' helicopter ride, DUDE!!!

(okay...enough of the chop busting)

MAN! Am I glad you're alright!!!

You had us all worried there, dude!

Heal up quickly. The bike's secondary right now, and is fixable/replaceable and is really nothing to worry about.

I know. I've been there myself.

(but NOT in a cool-a$$ HELICOPTER though!!!)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

I had an ambulance ride I can't remember either. I remember the bill . I wonder if the helicopter will give you the standard "can't remember" discount????

Glad it's working out for you, I like happy endings

Maybe it's a good thing you don't remember what happened after the gas station. The main thing is that you will be able to recover basically all in tact and that's a great thing! Really sorry about your accident but really glad you'll be able to ride again.

I also have a rule about never riding without a helmet. I have been tempted to go on a short ride without it. Believe me, I learn from experience, just it this case it happened to be yours. No way am I getting on the bike without it now.

Get well soon and keep in touch with all your forum buddies.

Glad you're home already.
Get yourself on the road to being healed. You'll have plenty of time to assess the damage to the bike before you're able to ride again.
I'll bet you won't have any trouble finding some hands to do some fixing for you either .

Great to hear you will be OK. As Bigbill said, you have plenty of time to figure out what to do with the bike and plenty of people to lend a hand. Let your friends here know what you need.

Welcome back-Jack! It's great hearing you're doing as well as possible. Heal up quickly, put together a comprehensive list of what's needed on the bike for us, and jump back on when able.

Regards,

Tom

Blimey dude...

Just take it easy. Don't touch the bike until you are fixed... it won't get any worse the longer you leave it, but you will.

Still thinking of you mate.

Jack,
Glad to hear you're home and mending. Doesn't it suck the things you gotta do to get a helicopter ride and some good drugs?
