Had a Slipstreamer Viper I used occasionlly on my Speedmaster with the stock risers, but now that I put on the Deuce style risers that have more pullback, the rods that attach to the handlebars for the shield are too short. So I'm looking for a fork mounted shield, but I don't have the shrouds on so the usual Marauder choices won't work. Ideally I'd like to go to a fork mount shield that has a quick release.

I went to the Harley dealer the other day with my tape measure and found the Softails have 41mm fork tubes, but they're approximately 10 inches center-to-center and our bikes are about 8 3/4 c-to-c. Saw one Softail there that had a windshield on it and I don't see how the mounting points can adjust to that 1 1/4" difference.

So, anybody have any ideas on other possible makes and models that might fit my bike's setup? After doing 120 miles each way at 80+ mph on the interstate to Prescott, I wished I had a windshield the last 80 miles home. I have a trip in July to Southern Utah, and I need to find a windshield that'll fit by then. The only thing I'd change from my current setup would be to bend or make a new bracket for the speedometer to pull it back closer to the handlebars. Putting the stock risers back on is not in the plan.

You might want to PM Eddy. It seems he has a knack for this kind of stuff.

I have a Memphis Shades Del Rio (I think), my shrouds are removed. I bought it at Sturgis at the Memphis Shades booth, They had it mounted in the time it took me to pay for it. You might contact them directly. The mounts they used don't have any adapters or anything else on them just direct bolt up.

sal...
Dont know if this will help of if its even an option for you but...
How much further back are the risers on your bike now?
I ask cause I have a Windvest I'm trying to sell. If you look at the pics in my photo post you’ll see the side view that shows how Windvest uses spacers to get the shields further out or in on the handlebar mounted system. I’m wondering if this might work for you. Worst case you might need an additional spacer to clear your spedo or maybe you could shorten it so the spedo would be on the outside of the shiled (this would look odd I think).

Thanks for the offer, but I'm not too keen on the Windvest when I looked into one 3 or 4 years ago. I think I'll PM Eddy and see what he can come up with.

Stupid companies with their model only fitment charts. Why can't they also give dimensions?
