So here it is. My newly made number plate holder and a new rear light. I've been thinking a lot what to do with the rear end (on the bike that is) without cutting it, and this is the result. Since I always have my bags attached I changed back to using the built-in turn signals instead of having them as driving lights. Retro looking, right? I made the bracket out of 2 mm aluminum. After painting it flat black I gave it a thin edge molding. The old number plate bracket is still there holding the upper part. The light is a Lucas replica used by Triumph and BSA 1964-1972 AFAIK.

The bags are old Shoei hardbags. Bought them, mended and painted them myself. I believe they are from mid 70's.

I have 2 sets of those bags. Chrome is rusty and paint is bad but other wise OK. 1 set is on an old Honda 500 I have laying out back, ran when I threw it there. The other set I can't remember where they came from.
I like that retro bullet light. That was always my favorite Triumph style.

Thank you Soren! I like to make the ol' TBA my own. It's just the wife that doesn't understand why I had to buy a bike that needed all this instead of one that had it all from the start...

The set on the Honda turned out to be a different make and slightly larger. They are rough but I might part with them.

Isn't this just a lovely bit of work? Very well done.

What can a guy say but wow. I've been lookin at stuff for a couple months trying to figure out what I can do to the tail lights and bags. And now I feel so inadaquite Im gonna have to buy a bigger car, get a divorce, and find a cute (blind) 22 yr old just to boost my ego back up. NICE work. Bike looks fantastic... Feels good when you look at your own work and upgrades, bet she rides good too ?
