Well the Bieffe half helmet I've been wearing on my windshield fitted Honda Shadow took off like a parachute and tried to garrotte me when I goosed my new-to-me TBA. Anyone have experience with a full helmet that you can actually wear bifocals (or any scrip glasses) inside? can't ride without my specs so I need your input. Thanks.

HJC Symax. Modular, flip-front helmet. I wear shades under mine and I know people who wear scrip specs under one too. Nice thing is, you can take the helmet off and put it on while wearing your glasses.

Do you have a windshield on the TBA? If so, reading your post I'd bet you need lowers under that windshield. The air whipping around the tank at speed is probably blowing right up into your face and under your helmet. A new helmet might help, but a good set of lowers will probably cure the problem altogether.

We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

You might want to try a flip up helmet http://motorcyclehelmets.net/yvs500/shopexd.asp?id=31I have the above helmet, and it works very well with glasses. The price is right too. Perhaps it's just me, but bifocals cause me problems when looking at the mirrors at night. It took me x hundred feet of road each time to figure out what I was looking at. I sent my Wiley prescription glasses back and had single vision lenses put in.

No windshield, yet. And, I'm okay with the bifocals at night. It was just that a proper fitting full helmet would not let my cable temples slip past the padding to my ears (and that helmet's posted now in classifieds). I'm just looking for users to suggest a couple of models I can look for.

By virtue of the full-face helmet design, you will be hard pressed to find any that will allow you to use cable-end ear pieces.

I have the HJC CL-Max flip up helmet and am very happy with it. I've worn bifocals for about 15 years and have had no problems. I just replaced my helmet as it was damaged on Saturday when it fell off a gas pump and hit a curb. I ordered it Monday and it arrived Wednesday. No freight and lowest price I found was at http://www.tonker.com/ Good luck

I wear progressive glasses under an Arai. PITA that you have to take the glasses off before putting on or taking off the helmet. I tried the new Shoei flip-up and that will work for my next helmet. Scott

Any thoughts on relative noise levels?

I have been wearing a Nolan 102 for over a year with glasses and it works great. In fact, for sun glasses I wear Fit Overs over the eye glasses and they work very well.

Thanks for all of the great suggestions. In the end none of the modular full face helmets worked with my cable temple glasses. The solution was a Nitro Touring 3/4 with a flip up face shield. Man, I had no the wind was masking the Specialty Spares so well (although they do sound wonderful), now it's going to be E.A.R ear plugs on the next ride so I can hear the Mrs. when I get home

I have a ZR1 half helmet, and it doesn't generate much lift at all below 110 MPH. I used to have a wermacht style lid, and that would fly like a bird above 20 MPH. Most lids these days, except for some custom fit racing types are made to fit around glasses. Well, maybe not the kind Elton John wears....
