I need to replace one of my blinker bulbs. Can we use the sandard auto types on our bikes? i would think so right. If so, I need a part #.

Thanks

Nope, one relay. You don't mention front or back, does the corresponding one work? how about the other side?

Last nightI bought spare headlight bulb, but also wanted to buy spare bulbs for turn signal and brake light. Tried Advance Auto Parts and Auto Zone. They both had a bazillion bulbs to choose from. Even though I had a rear turn signal bulb and brake light bulb with me from my bike, I couldn't see anything distnctive enough to satisfy me that I had a match. Brake light bulb has to pins on side; one high, one low; two filaments and two contact points on the base. Turn signal bulb had two pins on the side; pins were parallel; one filament (as I recall it this morning); and one contact point on the base. There were lots and lots of bulbs in the stores that seemed to match what I have. So, any suggestion on selectng the right bulbs for turn signal and brake light would be appreciated.

These are standard bulbs that cars have used forever. The stop and tail (double filament) is an 1157. Look down in the socket to get the high and low pins on the correct side. The single filament signal bulb is an 1156.

I really do appreciate your help and the specifics you provided. The "sales" people at the store were the source of my doubt / confusion. Their "bulb" product knowledge was limited. It seems being a motorcycle issue just threw them for a loop.

Hey, BTW, my 05 is same color scheme as yours. I get a lot of favorable comments on the color. Bought it with Triumph tall sissy bar and off road silencers. Added "All American" brand saddlebags and Easy Brackets this spring. Looking at maybe adding Triumph light bar later on this year.

I guess you get to ride all year long, huh? You lucky devil!

After owning my speedy five days, the rear right directional bulb blew. The stock bulbs are stamped 7056. These are 24w bulbs commonly found in some european cars. I brought it to two auto part stores and one cycle repair shop. All they had to offer were 1156 and 1073 which are 12w bulbs. Never guess who had them in stock, WALMART and for about 3 bucks for two. Who da thunk?
