I'm slowly upgrading my 07 Speedmaster. After taking care of the performance issues, I'm shopping for bags. IMO the bags in the Triumph Catalog look too small. I would like bags that can hold at least enough gear for a weekend trip, and be removed quickly without tools.

Your are right about the Triumph bags they are too small for anything other than carrying a couple six packs.Or a picnic lunch. You can stuff a pair of chaps in one if ya roll them tight. Wish I had not gotten them but stuck with em for now.

We got a huge set of cheap bags we use for trips off of Ebay. Cost about $50 and are cavernous. They hold up well for use but don't stay looking good very long. If you just want use out opf them then remove once you reach your destination they are great if you want to leave them on all the time I don't reccomend them.

I would vouch for the saddlemen drifer or cruiser styles in jumbo size. They're not huge (despite the name!) but they're usefully large and I think they complement the lines of the bike.
If you look in my gallery you can see my tba with the "large" size which are an inch smaller in each dimension. Nice looking but a bit small.

I've got the Triumph slants which are fine for all the around town and Sunday rides. When I travel I use a T-Bag and Backrest bag I carry with me and leave the saddlebags on the bike.
I've thought about larger removable ones and I like the K-Drive look and concept, but worry they may be too big. I don't want to take away my wife's 2-up leg space. I guess I'd have to see them in person.

very happy with my saddleman/easy brackets. tough to beat for the price

Option to consider if your looking for room that can come and go...Bikers Friend. Saw one this weekend on Larry Dinseys bike and it is HUGE! Helmets and jacket fits in tehre and I don't think he had the largest available. Others on the site have them. Oh..if your not two up that is.

Take a look at Leatherworks bags at Greatbikegear.com
The Model 112 series work really well with the America/SM especially with Easy brackets

Yeah the Triumph ones are small....but I've got enough clothes in one side for 4 days away...and a load of crap in the other. But I've always travelled light.

I got the Saddleman Jumo Drifters with Easy Brackets too. I liked them because they didn't over-power the look of the bike. Also they have rounded top corners, which I thought could be a plus for a passenger. They do need to be reinforced as the backs WILL crack in-time with vibration.
The Willie Max looked good to me as well for the price.
