After 27 years of riding everything but a cruiser i have eventually seen the light.Picked up my new 2007 America last month and i am absolutely delighted with it.its brilliant to be able to sit back and take in my surroundings and scenery instead hammering around overtaking lines of traffic. So why have you lot been keeping Americas and Speedmasters a secret from the rest of us lemmings in UK? GITS!!!
Wheres best place to buy accessories?ive been using Custom Cruisers and Norman Hyde.is it easy importing parts from USA?Any help for this cruiser newbie would be much appreciated.

Hi Robert and welcome, you can buy just about anything for these bikes in the US, but importing them back is the big problem as the customs and excise guys grab you by the googlies. There is a few places where you can buy bits in the UK, have a look at the vendors part.

This shop http://www.newspeedmaster.com/ will have most of what you need. They have experience with shipping to the UK and can help you out with that. Unfortunately, the import tax makes it nearly as expensive as buying local and paying VAT.

Welcome !!! Triumph themselves have a fair range of goodies to dress up your bike as well. I find Jack Lilley pretty good with mail order delivery times and most of what you order is in stock. Link to website below.

Stainless works just as well. you can buy the bolts on their own if you realy need them. I had a stainless fetish with my last bike, every bolt was replaced stainless, but it was a Suzuki Bandit and it rains here
Did you get pipes?

yes i got short slashcuts,footboards,rev counter,chrome cam cover,auxilliary socket.
Rains here too,i'm on west coast scotland just accross the water from you.i had a bandit many moons ago so i know how bad the finish was on those bikes.my last bike was a Beemer and i reckon Triumph build quality and finish is to a far higher standard.the chrome is mighty impressive compared to some of the chrome ive seen on other makes, including Ha*ley.
did you get pipes Stephen?

I have the Triumph short off roads and am pleased with the note. I just picked the bike up from dealer last night after the 500M check/service (£27, just had to pay for the oil and filter). Dealer also reset the pilot air screws for me now I have the AI plugged, you need a security bit D tool to adjust them and it can be bought at the mentioned sites. I just left it to my dealer and its running fine. Sounds like your bike is well kitted out, I'm looking at luggage/throwovers/panniers as my next nessicary accessory

Hey! Welcome.

I can assure we haven't been keeping them a secret, whenever I'm out my bike always get the looks. You'll have to get used to that.

Use you start accessorising you won't stop. With the first one, I kept her nearly stock.... the 06, he's being tarted up like you wouldn't believe.

Gina 03 America - Pretty stock - except the TBS wheel... 06 America - missing, presumed in bits. With it's TBS wheel... 09 America - It's very blue....

Why is it whenever I think of going outside to clean the bike it rains...

Why is when I have to pick my bike up from the dealer 40 miles away it rains and the roads are stinking

Congrats Robert, glad you're happy with your new ride. And what a fine bike it is isn't it?
I found Jenks Bolts great to deal with also when sorting my AI/ jet mods. Good prompt advice on a couple of technical queries I mailed at the time.... Recommended

But that's the perks of me being a girl.

And tart is probably the wrong word. But he's definately a bloke. Just as annoying too.
Just I haven't worked out what's gonna happen when I get the 06 in a garage with the 03.... and she's definately a she... Am I gonna go in one day and find lots of little Triumphs....?

Welcome home fella, I love my america and tend to get compliments from people who know bikes. The rest just think it's not a harley and I don't care. I too must warn you about accessorising. It is addictive....

06 BA, TOR's, 17T front sprocket, 135/42, needles shimmed, AI removed, drilled airbox, K&N air filter, desnorked, SM seat and risers, drag bars, pro-grips....let's ride!!
