Thanks all - I don't yet have any other shots that do it justice. The guy did an AWSOME job. I wanted ghost flames and I got 'em. As soon as I get any better shots I'll post. Somehow the solid color tank under the standard console and badges just really look great! And that it is a "color match" to the stock 2002 Cardinal Red without really being a color match.

I'm happy with it!

PS and if you show up at the SW Truimph Fest next weekend - it'll be there in person!

Becky

That's beautiful paintwork. Without the silver wings the tank appears slimmer too.

Becky, those are some amazing flames! That style of subtle flames is my abslolute favorite style! I hope that I get a chance to see them in person sometime.

Very nice. I think those ghost like flames add the right amount of class. Nice but not overdone.

Sorry dude - you gave it up a long time ago....but I thank you very much.
The painter does body work and says he can fix my old tank - not sure yet what I'm going to do with it once he's gotten the dent out....

Here's the best wide shot I can get.... all shiny from a bath.

The fenders are the stock paint, the only paint was the tank.

pix suck, not yours but in general. Stuff you want to show you can't see and stuff you don't jumps out.Nice looking bike if it wasn't for your first pic I wouldn't know it had flames from the pic though. I can picture it though from your first pic. Bet it looks cool in person!

Dog - there just isn't any good way to get a whole bike pic and see the flames - course that was kinda my intention....I wanted subtle, only see them in certain lights, and a camera just can't seem to pick that up. That and I'm not home when the driveway is in full sunlight it seems. But even then, I don't think they would show up in a full bike pic. Thats why I posted the one of just the tank.

I knew that was just saying looks good and probably even better in person. I guess sometimes I don't come across the way I mean to.

Sorry -been a long day. But no excuse to bite back.
It does look much better in person - ask the guys at the SW Fest!!!! Once they quit complaining about my riding to car crash scenes (blocked roads) and parking lot riding skills.

That tank looks so good in person the pictures can't do it justice. Great color match and the flames are so muted they give the tank depth without being gaudy.

The quality of the tank matches the quality of the rider in this case. I would ride with her anywhere.

Just so everyone knows I didn't mean that as anything against her bike. I really like the paint and had said so when she posted the first pic. All I meant was it's a shame it didn't show up in the full bike pic.

Very nice. The whole bike looks great. Maybe the red ones are that fast.

What handlebars are you using and what was involved switching to them?

The bars are mini-apes, I did them not long after I bought the bike in 2002.... all the wiring and cables had to be extended - the dealer at the time did the work for me. The stock bars were too wide and far forward for me to be comfortable, and there weren't the options of risers and the speedmaster with the shorter bars hadn't come out yet back then. I like it and its a comfortable ride.

Yep! ESPECIALLY around meandering mountain roads, huh Becky!

(BTW Becky...just for Ian, maybe next time you should get Annie Lebowitz[photographer to the stars] to shot those pics of your bike for ya...though I hear she's pretty expensive)
