Actually, Ray, the Neil you can see is Neil. I'm Neill, who you can't see. I know why you're confused, tho...we both ride black Speeeeeedies (or was it the copious amounts of JD and lager you'd drunk!!!)

50 miles in the rain. Wooo. Not something I wanna do again (especially as I'd forgotten my waterproof pants) but the bike never put a foot wrong.

Thanks again to Ray and Margaret for the hospitality and the rest of the gang for making it a great night.

But he does! Really... who knows where he goes.

So after a bath to warm up (the rain round Manchester was really cold and really wet) a cup of tea and a nap (the getting up before midday 2 days running finally got to me) I'm somewhere that has been known to be called home and somewhere back to a human state.

Thanks Ray and Margaret again for your normal high standard of hospitality. I had a really good time and was pleased to see so many out.

Nah she's cool! I love people who speak how they see. I'm sure if she didn't like any of us we'd have known before she went home.

Glad the BBQ went well, would have liked to be there.... Other peoples holidays are a nuisance.

Any hint of another, count me in.

Me too.

How did everyone get on for sleeping - did it end up in tents?

I'd love to have one at my place, and parking would be fine - its' putting up 15-20 people thats the problem.

Still, hopefully get to the next one.

Cheers,

JC

Not a problem sleeping, as we used the dining room, lounge and small bedroom. Also used the spare bedroom so no tents were actually needed, mind you it was raining like bloody he!!. But this did not stop people enjoying themselves stood in the garage, the kitchen and even sat outside under the large brolly on the table.

A good time was had by all I do believe despite the weather. We also managed to squeeze in a run Saturday morning to Glasson Dock, Bull Beck (Caton) Devils Bridge, then up to Hawes and returned via the Trough of Bowland and Quernmoore. Some of us had already done the same trip a few times, but others thought it was really good.

Almost forgot-not that I think anyone's interested but I'll post it anyway, it may help someone, somewhere along the line- at the 'event', we did a bit of comparing the 06 Speedie to the 07. Apart from the obvious (wheels, pipes, etc) we noticed that the upper fork shrouds on the 07's (inc America) are tapered (thicker at the bottom-look beefier); this may or may not be obvious. The other thing we noticed (don't ask how) is that the chain on the 07's is thicker.
That's it. Anoraks off.

And if I could borrow your anorak for a minute ..
So anyone fitting '07 Wheels etc to an older bike would either need the sprockets too ...
or use their old sprockets with the rear wheel ...
unless the chain is just beefier and the same sprockets will fit ...
or ... soddit, I'm sure it can done.

Dunno about interchangeable forks though ...

We will see if they fir or not, the way I look at it is:-

Two wheels £250.00
Front forks £70.00
Two front calipers £30.00

All brake cables supplied so for a total of £350.00 I have got myself a real bargain and if they don't fit they go back on Fleabay...

Sure they will though

Hi Neil,

As long as everybody enjoyed themselves, and had enough to eat and drink, which I think they did
