I installed these things about 2 months ago along with the Nology coils and wires. No more carb tuning. No more flat spots. Immediate start up. Smoother idle and shocking acceleration. Had to change to a 17 tooth spocket because 2nd gear came way too quick. The bike now sounds meaner.
Thanks to the performance gurus at British Customs. They are my friends and mechanics. It helps that I live 1 mile from them.

Do the coils and wires make a big difference? Help with cold start up?

Cold starts are what's keeping me from making my Speedy LOUD. I like my neighbors, but if it were just a minute til I left, well, that wouldn't be so bad.

Engage choke for ten seconds and i'm gone. carburation makes a big difference. The ignition provides more fire in the hole especially at high RPMs, less turns to crank the engine when cold and smoother idle when cold.

Living in California it might be a good idea to remove the sticker that says "Motorcycle Race Use Only."

We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

Believe it or not Triumphs don't get harrassed around here. Most law enforcement officers thinks it's a 67 or 68 so they don't bother me. They are going after the HD's with really loud pipes. I have had a few even give me the 'approval' nod...not smiling of course.

this is probably the only positive review I've read about these carbs. Maybe the other users don't speak up, but I've never read anything good about them.

nice bike. congratulations. That's the beauty of these bikes and this site, there's always something further to look forward to down the track. So can you tell me, compared to stock, how much difference is there in acceleration?

Staintune Pipes, K&N Pods, 45 pilots, TBS needles and 145 mains.

Hello,
Since I also have installed CRII carbs lately I'm kind of interested in what Main, Slow and needle set ups that is common. I will get it on the bench soon but in the meantime I'm running 58 + 1.25 turns on the Slow and 135 Mains. And it runs good. No popping what so ever on deacceleration.
And very quick response. I'm very satisfyied so far.
Regards
Hasse

I did a dyno run shootout thing a while back. The fellow that ran before me had the fcr39 flat sides on his. He only produced 2 more hp than me. A bit different than the roundsides but I was not impressed with the performance of them for 1250.00 bucks. The CR's are a better buy but There's trade off's to consider. But i'f you're on a quest for the ultimate in hp numbers and all else be damed then better carbs can help you get there.

If you want ultimate HP across the RPM range and just swapping out the stock carbs, you should go EFI together with suitable TBs for the engine capacity in question.

CR's are hard to tune. not many can get the dialed in perfect. but if your happy that is what really matters. plus they are a much cheaper alternative than the other options out there

You might want to send a PM. I don't think Doug shows up here very often anymore.

That's a really nice installation. Is it a Freak or just K&N's and a hacked airbox?
