Has anyone changed the clutch on one of these yet.
Am I alone here or does the clucth on these suck.
I weigh 275 so it's like riding double all the time.
I thought about putting in a Barnett clutch and looking
through the manual they list several shop tools for the
job. I just wondered how dificult this clutch is to do.I
never needed any special tools on any of the other bike
clutches I have done. The stock clutch to me just seems
soft and lacking in the grab department.

How far are you from Canandaigua, NY? I have all the tools you will need and have done mine already. Do not buy the entire Barnett clutch, just get the Barnett MT-5-5 spring set.(This is the one listed in the catalogs for the standard Bonnies) That is all you will need, along with a new clutch cover gasket. You can buy the whole kit if you feel better about it though. My Barnett kevlar plates are still about 1.5 times the spec with tons of wear left to them after 11,000 miles and a big bore. Ride that baby up here and I'll help you do it in about 1 hour. You can call Canandaigua Motorsports, have the parts waiting here if you want, they are about 1 mile from me. 585-394-7490, ask for Jake in parts. You will also need some money to buy me beer though. MacGregors is about 1/2 mile away and they have 120 taps.

Hey Pat I think I might have to take you up on that offer.
Mapquest says about 300 miles. I don't know if my back will
take a haul like that in a day though. I live right off of
I-79 so I could make a straight shot north. I like the idea of 120 flavors also. I don't drink much beer anymore
so I hate to drink bad beer. You say just get the Barnett
springs but aren't the Kevlar plates all they are cracked
up to be? I do only have 2800 miles on my clutch. Hey
maybe after the Memorial day weekend.
