I did a quick search, but did not come up with anything although I'm sure this has been discussed. My bike came with a nice T-bag installed on the sissy bar, but I don't like running with it except perhaps for trips. I'm looking for a fork bag for my TBA - any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks.

Don't make the same mistakes I did -
I reccommend a pouch that extends beyond the out side dimension of the forks and that it be made of some thick and rigid leather. Mine does not meet either of the suggested criteria and its as limp as a wet noodle and sags in the middle (between the forks - front to back. I am continually adding little brackets and stiffeners, but they need re-arranged with each new sag.
One final suggestion - Mount it in such a way as to keep it off the forks - the continued movement will mar the forks

consider getting a hard leather fork bag and mounting in-between the headers on the front of the frame. there's two parallel bars that hold the foot controls. the only problem is, if you ever want anything out of your bag you have to wait till the headers cool or you run the risk of burning your arm! don't ask me how i know.

Check out the fork bag that Brent has on newspeedmaster.com, I have one and it's awesome.

Hermey's in PA had some beautiful bags, I believe they were Triumph Accesories. Didn't see a price tag, but they were nice and I bet pricey. FWIW, I have an el-cheapo. It hangs off my forward control bars and is pretty much unseen (that was the goal). It catches road spray/dirt so I wouldn't want a pricey bag hanging down there. I use it to carry tools to fix my friends HD's, good to be useful.

Thanks for the suggestions gang. That one for over 130 bucks looks nice, but that is mighty pricey for a fork bag!!

Here are the bags from Triumph, looks like one is the bag from Brent, but oddly a few bucks less. These are the a quality like I've never seen in a saddlebag/fork bag. Too rich for my blood, I'd always have the fear it would be stolen. They come with a bracket, maybe it is secure enough. Triumph Fork Bags

I got a jacket and a toolbag from here, http://www.leatherup.com/showpages.asp?pid=1089. I can attest to their quality. No limp noodle affect on the toolbag. The ones they have on there now seem a little cheesy. The one I have is plain and simple. They may just be out.

Thanks, what I like about these is that they come with mounting hardware so they should secure very nicely to the bike!

Thanks. Been there & done it... There's no good place for this pouch but in the trash. I guess it goes back to what Fatty Arbuckle said, "You get what you pay for."

guess i got lucky. mine is holding up just fine. and what i like most about it is that it's the hard leather so there's no sagging at all.

Saddleman wide toolbag, with homemade, brushed aluminum, bracket mounted to existing holes in lower fork tree. Not seen in pic is another aluminum crosspiece (horizontal) slipped through leather slots on exterior aft side of toolbag. Looks good. I put the bag on for longer trips-takes about 3 minutes.

Made this bracket for my BA, got a real deal on a used "Willie Max" fork bag which is reinforced vinyl that looks like leather and sells for about $50 retail.

Al, I guess I missed the URL the first time I read this. I see it is the exact bag that Brent offers but less expensive. I'm debating with myself as to whether I want to spend that much for a fork bag.

Hmmmm, seems a bit cluttered under there, but obviously it can be done!

Hey Melvin... what's that OEM billet clutch cable bracket come off? It's a nice alternative to the chromed ones and way better than the cheap galvanised ones these bikes come with.

Sandmann has quite a bit of useful stuff. He also has some good heads up stuff in his big bore saga.

I saved quite a bit of money on mine. Went to a cycle swapmeet in Carlisle PA and picked up a hard leather barrel bag for about 20 bucks. We took an old piece of scrap aluminum (any metal would work though) that was a piece of angle (actually I believe it might have been a piece of top rail from a tractor trailer) and simply cut it to the right width, drilled the holes and mounted it in the empty holes in the bottom triple tree.
You could probably get a piece of scrap metal from just about anywhere to do this. My bag now sits about an inche in front of my forks mounted on the bracket. Cheap and easy to do.

I got my tool bag at Fox Creek Leather and it is very well made. I'll be adding a bracket for it when I install my lightbar as you have to use zip ties to keep it from sliding down the forks once the tools are in

Willie and Max: Willie and Max Tool Pouches You can find them for less through some of the accessory catalogs like Shadetree Powersports, or Competition Accessories. Willie and Max runs things on sale occassionally too, especially around the Holidays. Their service is top shelf, but they also like to support their distributors, so look around for the best style and the best deal. Save your money for the shiny bits. These tool pouches look just as good as those costing lots more - especially when you get bags and road sling all over them and realize you don't have to worry about the leather getting ruined. They are stiff enough to retain shape, and mount securely with velcro straps around the tree. I carry a tire repair kit, some zip-ties, a good flashlight, and a Craftsman 1/4 drive socket set. I take my saddlebags off all the time (EasyBrackets), but why would I take off the tool pouch? You can't see the rubs on the fork covers unless you take the tool pouch off. So WHO CARES?

I picked up a Road Krome one at my local dealership in their clearance bin for $20 CAD. I will be putting some aluminum or something underneath just to help support it as soon as I get my bike back together.. (chain/sprocket replacement time)
07 TBA Pacific Blue and White.. stock for now!
A bike has half the wheels my cage does.. but 3x the fun factor
