I had a noise coming from the rear that I would only hear when coasting with the clutch pulled. I took it to the dealer and they said they had to order a shim kit for the transmission. I am cool with that but I am worried that since I have ridden 500 miles in this condition that there may be more damage that I have to worry about. Does anyone have any insight on what I should be concerned about with this issue?

Thanks,

Ralph

this is a new one for me. I have never heard of anyone needing a shim kit for the trans. Did you have any problems shifting or just a noise?

Never really had problems shifting but it was kinda clunky. I dont know if that is a characteristic of Triumphs or not. I rode a scrambler the other day that was very smooth though. I am gonna have some more info about what happened on Tuesday. Maybe I just found a bad egg... The dealer will fix it but I was just not sure as to the extent of the damage that could have been caused. I dont want the trans to fail prematurely do to this...

Thanks again,

Ok... The bike is still t the shop. They say they changing bearings and have the trans pulled apart. I am getting nervous that this is taking so long....
