was wondering what alternative I have other than coughing up 230 for the Triumph rack for my America. Anyone out there have any suggestions? Right now I have a bag strapped around the passenger seat pad. Thanks in advance. Jack

There was some talk on the old message board about a couple of guys that had installed the HD Deuce setup and liked it. They had to install longer bolts. I was recently looking through the photos to see what it looked like on our bikes but can't find the pic. I have a buddy with a Deuce that is going to let me check it out.

Look for a deal on a used Triumph luggage rack. That's what I did. Got a good deal.

I'm with FriarJohn on this one. I payed full boat for my Triumph rack...but it's worth it's weight in gold on a trip. That's where my RiggsPak sits when I travel. Then another bag goes behind me on the P-Pad.If you can find a used one snap it up.

I picked up a rack for a HD sportster, it fits perfectly without modifiying and sits closer to the fender than the Triumph rack. Plus it only cost $15 off of Denniskirk.com.

No not really $15 but it is cheaper than the Triumph one which lists for $140 and this one goes for $73.00. Before anyone buys double check that I gave you the link to the one for the Sporster.

I thought $15.00 was to good to be true. Here's what I found at dennis kirk. Is this the one? dennis kirk P/N H50353 $62.99 plus $6.00 shipping. Looks nice. I'll be getting me one of those as I ride solo mostly. Thanks for the tip.

interesting that the Sportster item fits. Makes me wonder about other items. for example, wouldn't this fender bib have to fit? Fender Bib for Sportster

As long as the bolt pattern is the same I don't see why not. Now on the rack one bolt hole is oblong and it just makes it so on the bib yu might have to enloarge one hole. Tell me how the items work out.

It does not look like this will fit a BA with the pax pad, or am I wrong?

Huh?? If you mean the pillion pad, no it's meant to replace it. You might be thinking of the luggage rack for the sissy bar. If of coarse we're talking about the same thing.

Here's the link and a picture of the rack. It was $62.99 +6.00 UPS shipping. The rack arrived in 4 business days. Holes line up perfectly for a '05 TBA. Front hole doesn't slide on the stock bolt like the pillion seat. Plenty on length on the stock bolt to secure both the seat bracket and the rack. Padded chrome, so no metal contact with the paint. Like the Triumph rack, it's only rated for 10 pounds, so pretty much "show only" or a 12-Pack or Guinness. Hardest part of the install was getting all the shrink wrapped plastic off the chrome. Sits lower than the Triumph rack, but still enough room to clean/wax the fender. Mind not the empty beer cans in the background. Keep in mind it's made in Canada, but so is Guinness cans and non-nitrogen capsulated bottles now. Dennis Kirk
