I had my upper and lower oil lines chromed over the winter including the braided sections and banjo bolts. I'll keep you posted as to how well they hold up. I've never seen braided line chromed before so if anyone else is thinking of it I'll let you know if it's worth spending the money. Tommy

Ever consider replacing the braided lines with polished stainless steel hard lines? That would look cool...

I never did, but it would look cool. I'd have to think about how to attach the banjo fittings though.

I don't think it would be tough to do. My buddy is running hard stainless oil lines on his Harley chopper. And if they can take that kind of vibration running them on our bikes should be no problem.

No the vibration isn't a problem the Triumphs in the 50s had solid external oil lines on some bikes. (my 54 for example) and they definately vibrate more than our new bikes.

The only issue is finding the correct fittings. I haven't done any research; I have bigger fish to fry these days.

Do they make them available with a compression fitting? The upper line recieves oil from both cylinders so you would have to use the factory hard line and adapt the new lines to that original piece. Maybe a loop in each new line might look cool.

Look for a hydraulic supply place. I used to work for a hydraulic power unit manufacturer, we had every kind of fitting known to man, they had to get em somewhere!
