I know I've brought it up before. I am finally looking seriously at putting the kidney toolboxes o the BA. But there are two types apparently. Is this true? Can we use both types. I know nothing about harleys!
Cheers

I have only ever seen one kind of kidney type tool box available. I had tow of them on my Heritage Softail classic.

I am looking at replacing the footpeg brackets with the tool boxes and then mount the rear pegs underneath the boxes just the same way as they do it on the Harleys.

I like the look of the hardly ones. They are similar to the original triumphs, but I have an original and it is just too big. (anyone want to buy it?) I have seen pictures of ones with a tab type mount and I don't know if they are removable or are fixed on. I have the template from Angelis(i think) but the best quote I got to get them made was $350! I reckon I will have a go myself with a hacksaw and grinder. Yeh, so anyone know about the fitted mounts?
Cheers

Is that the price for machining them out of aluminum? I bet someone with a waterjet could do it much cheaper.

Actually I was referring to the process more than the material. A buddy is building a '56 Olds street rod and had a pattern for a custom grill cut out of 1/4" steel with a water jet. 19 pieces of steel, including the material, well under $200. That included digitizing a cardboard template, not handing them a diskette. I'm thinking they can cut me out a pair of toolbox brackets for under $100 total including material (I'll go with aluminum). Hopefully it would be closer to $50.

Member Bluebass has some on his bike. I'm sure he won't mind me posting the picture. He doesn't post much lately but you could probably PM him to get the details.

Thanks All,
The ones Ray has shown are the same but they have the soft tail mount on them and I was trying to find out if the mounts can come off or can the be used as is.
These are the same as the J&P http://www.jpcycles.com/productgroup.aspx?GID=F35E063E-8BF2-431C-A09D-F378811209A2

I would be interested in a pair of black ones if I could mount them without losing the passenger foot pegs.

Angelis, are you able to get more sets of black ones? And can you supply brackets without the peg holders as well? I would be interested in a set of each - Dale -

I can get both left and right black and chrome boxes. The brackets are made out of steel, but it cost me $160 dollar for a set. I was told if I order a few sets it would be cheaper. I'm on vacation this week, so give me until Tuesday to get prices for you. By the way I'll get the boxes at my cost(I'll use my dealers account) so the only thing you'll have to pay extra is the shipping-BA members only.......Angelis

Didn't realise what I started.
I was looking at getting black ones but they are not common. The local electro plater will powder coat the two of them for $55. All I have to do is get a pair at a decent price. I had some lined up but they went. We had a huge swap meet here today. Bugger all bike bits though. Lots of ute parts.
