Just got my '05 SM two weeks ago. At the time it only had 200 miles on it. I've put another 400 on it since then.
The previous owner had installed debaffled long TORs. I know for a fact that the carbs have not been rejetted.
My concern is that it is running too lean. In only 400 miles a *lot* of blueing has developed on the clutch-side header elbow. There is almost none on the throttle-side, so the carbs are most likely out of balance as well?
The calculator gives me 132 with everything else stock. I'm sure I'll eventually go with the Freak, and of course rejet the carbs then.
But my question is am I damaging my bike by not rejetting the carbs for the open TORs in the meantime?
Thanks!

You could be. Lean can cook engine parts such as pistons. Jetting is very easy and can save a large repair bill later. Don't forget pilot jet and maybe needles adjustment. With everything else stock you could probably get away with just a main for now and maybe a tinker with the mixture screws. A dyno run is always a good idea to see where you stand.

you should be fine, maybe shim the needles but that should be it. most on here are just fine with the stock pilots

there are several incarnations of the TOR's so it's helpful to know which ones you have...The TOR's are designed NOT to need re-jetting...not saying you wouldn't benifit from it just may not NEED it...
Blueing can be caused by a number of things...(well only one thing heat...but the heat can be caused by multiple things) running at idle to long with no bike movement, AI system still in, to rich (yep rich can blue too) so it may not be to lean...
Pats Calculator is usually spot on....except with the TOR's (and he'll tell you so himself) check your plugs if you think your lean...but unless you've modified your airbox (beyond pulling the snork) you should be able to tune the TOR's with a airmix change and a shim, with no real NEED to rejet...

Probably lean though Rob since the pipes have the baffles out.
