I pushed the bike a little harder today on my way home than normal. Had a snortster in fromt of me for about a ten mile streach down a fairly winding hilly road,Guy though he was lose me. I didnt want him to out tourque me, so i kept to mainly 3rd and 4th gear high rev's. Speeds between 55 and 65, did hit 5th for a brief straight away at around 75, anyhoo durring the period when the chase was on. Felt a pretty strong high frequency vibration trough the hand girps. Dont have a tack so dont know what rpm's I was truning. But when I got home my hands felt like I'd been pushing a lawn mower.
So was I pushng too hard? Is the vibe common at high rpm? or is there somthing I should look at?

I'm fighting a vibe on my speedy. The dealer just replaced my front tire, but it seems to be back now 200 miles later. Not terrible but not terribly nice either. If you rev limiter didn't kick in you weren't pushing hard enough.

Having the same issue with my 06 America, mine seems to smooth out at a higher rev ( no tach ) not a terribly bad vibe , just annoying. Once the weather clears up i am going to mess with it some more, i'll let you know if i find the magic cure ( besides going faster ).

Go to the Harley dealer and see if they have any used pre-rubber mount Sportsters. If so, take it for a test ride. Your Triumph won't vibrate anymore.

You could even take an old Triumph for a spin and again your bike won't vibrate anymore.

Don't worry, also rubber mount '04-up sporty vibrate a lot. Expecially after 3-4 years of use the rubber become weak and the engine moves a lot giving strong vibes opening the gas with upper gear lower speed.
I have sold it because it made me tired on longer travels. It's a good bike only for short city strips.

I had a vibration after doing a chain adjustment. The bike was on a stand to adjust the chain and when it was off the stand seemed to be tighter with weight on the wheel. I never bothered checking it till out riding and noticed a new vibration. Re-adjusted the chain to where it was and the vibration is now gone.

Yep on the stand. Wiggle it by pushing up on the lower chain between the sprockets and if it hits the plastic chain quide it too loose. If it clears it just right. Its no rocket science.

I didnt think they would vibrate if the carbs werent synced but if you removed the AI ,you definetly need to resync them........
