Just 10,000 miles on my America and it's in need of disc pads.....I never saw a set of pads wear so quickly. I suppose semi-metallic pads would last a lot longer, but for this time I guess I'll just go with the softer (Triumph) pads....at least they didn't seem to wear the rotors......but just over $100 for front and rear pads hurts a bit...

Last time I looked at Newspeedmaster http://www.newspeedmaster.com/index.html
they had a better price on a better lasting set of pads. They aren't terribly hard to change. The 2 trickiest parts is that you should loosen the 2 bolts that keep the pads in place before you unbolt the caliper, and you have to be careful that the fluid reservoir doesn't overflow when you push the pistons back to make room for the new pads.

I went with the brake pads from Brent at newspeedmaster.com, and the feel is better than the stock pads. Should cost you about $65-70 with shipping for both front and back. I've had them on now for about 10,000 miles and they still have a lot of life left in them, but then I'm easy on the brakes.

Michael,
I just put on new ones at 35,000 and they were a lot cheaper. Of course I got 'em on ebay @ $20.50 for the rear and $9.22 for the front. The EBC numbers are 196(front) and 214(rear) I got the HH series which is Kevlar. I used rear brake for most stopping, and the sintered metal ones lasted about 10,000 miles. Good Luck!

Ditto on the New Speedmaster brakes. And, if you're as lucky as I was, you'll get a pack or two of those tasty New Speedmastes cinnimon breath mints, too.
