Anyone in the Madison Wisconsin area on Sunday May 6th, it's time again for the annual "Slimy Crud Run."
This is a very cool ride that starts in Pine Bluff and goes to Leland and back. Several dealers in the area have oragnized departure times that morning so check with yours and see if they are going. Our group is leaving from Team Triumph in Janesville around 8:45 that morning. Hopefully the weather will cooperate!! See you all there!!

Scott,

"Sharer Cycle" started me on the Bonneville path in 1976, when their business was located on Stoughten Rd. Here I sit 15-20 years later still trying to figure these wretched things out .

Never did a "slimy crud" ride, but was probably on some of the same roads. Have a good one.

Yeah, I'm not exactly sure where the name came from, but I think I remeber reading something about a bunch of college kids at UW Madison starting this "ride" about 10 years ago. There was a pretty good sized turn out last year....probably 500-700 bikes of various sorts...

This is an annual ride that Peter Egan of "Cycle World" (and "Road And Track") fame writes about almost every year in his column, which in his prose has always made me feel as if I'm right there along side him on my bike.

Scott, if you happen to cross paths with him on this run, please tell him for me that I think him just about the most readable motojournalist published anywhere today.

Thanks.

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)
