I was just shining it up a bit and noticed my forks make contact w/ tank on both sides when turned to the max. Got two little dents I'd like to keep little, lol. Anyone else dealt w/ this??

that should not happen . check the fork stop under the lower yoke. if you do not see a problem there then look to see if the tank is mounted correctly.

The fork stop's made of a soft alloy and it runs up against the hard steel frame - if you're heavy handed when you turn the forks against the stop you'll compress it. If you've done that you're up for a new lower yoke, unless you want to try getting someone to weld it to build it back up, or sticking little rubber bump stops on it or something.

The tank should sit like the one in this picture. If the rear mounting bolt is in place the fore/aft location is correct but if the tank mounting brackets are not correctly mated the tank can sit way too high and be hit by the triple tree/ fork. If you can pull the front of the tank up more than a fraction of an inch, the bracket was missed last time the tank was put on.
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

You can drill the lower tree and thread in adjustable stops to solve that problem. Can even get rubber bumpers from an auto parts store and cushon it.

Look in the yellow pages under paintless dent repair, they did a outstanding job on a new Taho for me.They use long curved rods to push out the dings from the inside, could'nt see a marke when he was done.
