In prepareation for the SS1000 I went to the Iron Butt site the other night and started do my research.

Great site alott of good information, but I stumbled over this in their 25 tip section.

Do Not Go Without Tow Insurance the money spent now will save time and headaches down the road. They listed a few web sites so I checked them out.

I found this one which turns out to the largest and best know in the country. Motorcycle Towing Services, L.C..

They have a plan for cold waether riders plan starts April 1 through Sept. 1 for $30.00 per year and they will cover two bikes on one policy. They will pay the first $150.00 of the tow and they do not require you to pay first and get reimburst.

Seems cheap enough anyone heard of them.

That is a smokin deal. I don't even start my truck for less than $65 and the price goes up from there.

I sprung for the call in towing option on my Progressive Ins policy...kinda glad I did in retrospect. One of those things you hope you never need but my azz stranded on I-20...would feel a lot better knowing the tow truck was on the way. Sure beats walking/ hitchin to the next exit hoping your ride is where you left it when you get back.

AMA MoTow insurance is $25 per year for your bike and $65 for all your vehicles. Plus the cost of being an AMA member of course. That is both you and a spouse.

We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

My motorsickle policy has a tow/roadside rider. Reimburses me for tows. Check if your current insurance can write this type of endorsement too.

Regarding your question, the BMW Motorcycles of America list them on their website

Quote:

MOTORCYCLE BREAKDOWN Insurance

Euro and other overseas riders with breakdown and 'repatriation' coverage provided by their national auto clubs (e.g., ADAC, AA, RAC) will not get equivalent specialized motorcycle service from the US auto club, AAA. Specialized motorcycle breakdown service (towing to nearest dealer) is available for the US and Canada from:
