...and I just finish in time !

Nov. 06 - IN:

Apr. 07 - OUT:

on the road again..

it look ok to me but..
..a biker work is never done!

for sure I've to substitute the two mirrors with one small black coated.

and then;
may be a smaller front light?..
about the pipes?...
and a 16" front wheel?..
and..and..and..
any suggestions?

after all, the next winter will come for sure...

Greetings from Germany

I am looking into black header wrap for my pipes! I think it looks GREAT! I know they have a really cool bar end mirror that you can get somewhere, That would be cool too!

Bike looks good! Have fun and ride safe!

Nicely done young man,

Another example of winter put to very good use. I dunno, maybe match the pillon seat to the saddle stitching. Sometimes the lollipop mirrors work, they don't look that outofplace to me. But you mentioned already swapping them out.

How do you like the raised bars? For riding etc.?

I really need to get the bucket of warm soapy water out .

Coool ride!

And yes the lollipops have to go, either small ones or go for the Malteser cross mirrors, they would go with the style of the bike..... IMHO

Happy riding season!

Look in my gallery. The pic isn't very good but I have a shot of my fireman maltese cross mirrors on flame/skull stalks.

I did find this "twisted" sissybar on ebay for 20 $
is an original 70th piece (was mounted on a CB750 Honda!)
the holders on the fender strut are original, the sissybar was almost the same width, had to drill only one additional hole each side to screw the bar on.
that's it.

the Ape is a 19" , don't have any problem to ride with, I've always high handlebars on my bikes.

don't need the front fender,
in Germany it never rain.

Greetings

....keep the motor runnin' !

I forgot to ask...what is the diameter of the upper fork tubes now that the shroud is off?

@zmilin

1.) lift the bike about 20" from the ground and put a support underneath the front wheel,
2.) drain the hand brake fluid !!
3.)remove the brake line from the calipter
4.) remove the cable from the speedometer
5.) loose the four Allen screws, 2ea located on the upper front and 2ea on the lower back of the triple tree.
6.) if no helper around, remove the wheel support with one foot (not both..) and on the same time with your free hands hold tight the fork,above the fender and then let it slide down.. slowly..slowly.
sound complicated but isn't.
....did forgot something?...
anyway, It toke me about 1 and 1/2 hour to do that.

of course, do the vice versa to reassemble the whole thing.

the naked fork tube is 41 mm on diameter

@exile:
no problem at all with handling at low speed
I'd lower the back with a pair of Hagon rear shocks 270mm ( 1.2" less then the original length)
of course the bike is more harder and a bit "stiffer" now, but is ok for my style of (easy)riding...
