Anyone find pieces to raise or move back the speedmaster bars without getting new cables? the america and bonneville bars require you to get new cables, stanchions etc...at more than they are worth...

I'm not sure those will work on the speedmaster. Brent has a caption under them that reads "fits america only"

I put Harley Deuce style risers on my Speedmaster that have a 6" rise and 2" pullback. All cables and brake lines fit, but I did have to move the throttle cables to the right side of the frame. Here's the thread with all the particulars and pics. I bought mine off of ebay for something like $50 total.

With a few thousand miles on them now, I'm glad I made the change. Much more comfortable for me than the stock risers.

I've also got the deuce risers and couldn't be happier. In fact when I saw Sal's I knew yep, they are exactly what I need to lean nicely into my Corbin back rest and seat. Works for me and the comfort value is 100%+ .

I tried this on my Speedy. When I got it the bars were adjusted so the grips were parallel to the ground. For me, this put my wrists at a bad angle. I rotated the bars down until they almost touched the tank at full lock (leave room for fingers) and it straightened my wrists and made it a lot more comfortable. Eventually, I'll probably change the risers also, but this works pretty well, for free.

Cat, did you have to change out any cables or make any mods to go to the t100 bars?

no cable switches. the throttle was a little tight when i turned the bars, so i moved the cables under the tank more. i really didn't have to do too much. i can't recall how i did it; i just played around with the cables a bit. i'll go take a pic.

the bars are much more comfy for me. i wd. say at least a couple of inches back and up. i like the handling better, too.

I did the opposite...put 2"over Harley Deuce bars (cause I already had them) with the stock SM risers.... found a clutch cable at an indy shop that kinda fits... I think it's from an old Yamaha.... and rearranged the cables under the tank...
But I refuse to take the Deuce risers off my Deuce... I kinda need them there! <LOL>
