It pretty much beat this old man up by using muscles I haven't used in years, and I didn't even fall off. The next day I could hardly walk from the soreness. It's a handfull to say the least. I love it. The difference between my Bonneville 60 HP compared to 128 HP is hard on the body.

Fantastic, that's my dream bike. I sat on one yesterday at a Harley-Davidson "Battle-Trax" event. They had several demo rides to test against the Buell. I could have taken it out for a test ride, but didn't bring the required long-sleeved shirt, dang! Just as well, I can't afford another bike right now....two girls in school. Be careful & ride safe!

It wasn't exactly my dream bike. Then the Triumph trailor rolled into town for test rides on all their bikes. I rode the S3. When I got off the bike I immedirally hunted down the owner of the shop and ordered one, He exclaimed triumoh only allotted him one for 2005 but not to worry cause I was the first on the list. 2 months later it came in. The owner says he still has people begging for one. I suspect they will try their chances in Dallas or Kansas City? This is one bad machine and a wheelie monster too.

I talked with the shopowner today. He told me he gets at least three calls everyday for a New Speed Triple. So sorry.

Hiya Dale Loved 'em since the dealer showed me a sneak pic some months ago. Love that blue - then again I'm 'blue biased' I s'pose! Had a RAT pack meet tonight at the dealer's showroom and the owner has twisted my arm into trying one out - will stop by in a couple of days for that. I'm keeping an eye of the weather for a nice day. I tried the ST last week and loved the engine but not the riding position, he tells me the S3 is more upright. He knackered his elbow some time ago and says the S3 is more comfortable for him that the ST.

Yeah, the riding position is more straight up and comfortable. But when your approaching 150 MPH you might want to lean it to the wind a little bit. I love the no petcock and fuel injection. It starts the same, hot or cold. The electronic display records everything for playback at a later date, including top speed aquired. It's a nasty machine all the way around. Dale

If you want one, you better hurry. My dealer only gets alloted one this year and he tells me he gets at least three calls a day for a Speed Triple.

That's a gorgeous bike. If I could ride one (which I can't due to a gammy knee), I'd be selling my Granny to get hold of one.
My local dealer has a black demonstrator in, and it just looks fast.

Yeah, the riding position is a bit more upright than most crotch rockets. But the main thing is the power. Oh god, thank you for the power. Amen

Hmmm, I wonder if the police know about that? This feature could be good for bragging, but it could also be dangerous to the bank account.

Good point Greybeard. It also records average speed. Mine is at 37 right now. Fuel consumption is 48 MPG. The wheelie counter stops at 100 and resets itself.

I am in absolute love with the new Speed Triple. I just sold my Daytona a couple of months ago and I am missing the hooligan power immensly. They are absolute beautiful machines. Have fun!

Fryguy, the young sport bike kids I ride with were amazed at the Triple. Heard things like, "who is that old man on the Triumph", "I've never seen a bike like that before", "did you see that single swing arm?", "What is a Triumph?". They now know all the answers to their questions. Another thing I really like about it is when your wide open on the throttle it sounds like an old Chevy with the air cleaner lid upside down on the Quadrajet. LOL If you can find one, you better buy it. Mad`

The S3 is very close to an upright riding position depending how tall you are and arm length. The Hayabusa I just bought I literally could Not ride. Imagine laying down 10K on a bike you can't ride? Not smart. Anyway, I had to get a riser for the Busa bar assembly but it's still not as comfortable as the S3. Dale

i like it. i might have to ride one when the tri truck comes to the brit ralley at baxter cycle.
almost an upright posture... hmmm.
wife said if i quit smoking, i can buy another bike... i have 4 now, mostly old ones except the speedy.
my dealer has a black one-- don't know if it's a 05?
congrats. one fine looking machine. looks easier to ride than a sprint.
i also like the new kaw z 750 and the z 1000, but having a 3 piston growl pushes me to triumph-- besides, it's a triumph. that's great about the young lads wondering what a triumph is. that's worth the price in itself...

All I know is, between the Triumph Dealerships in Pensacola and Hattiesburg, there's not a Speed Triple or Sprint to be had through probably at least September, the sales manager at Hattiesburg is saying those two bikes are going like hotcakes!!

Yes, they are becoming very rare. I have the only Speed Triple in Oklahoma and there will be no more shipped to this state this year. The most recent shipment to the US was only four bikes. And you can bet all the states have waiting lists for the Triple just like at the dealers here in OK. If you can find a new Speed Triple you better grab it as fast as you can because you won't get another chance. Mad`

There's always next year, or the year after :-) Better for my finances anyhow, I couldn't possibly afford another bike. Besides I really want to see if Triumph comes out with that 680cc triple to replace the Daytona 650 / Speed 4. That could be a bike that I could get into!
