I know you all don't know me and I've only been here for a week, but you all helped me decide to buy an America. I bought it today and can't tell you how excited I am. My friend and I decided cowboy/rebel/badass motorcycles were the only way to go. He bought a HD Dyna Wide Glide. Really nice bike, but he spent more the twice what I did, and I think my bike looks and rides great. Just felt I should pass on the Karma and gratitude. Maybe I'll see you out there. ~ Danny

Yeah, hope to see you on the road. I see a bunch of Marylanders here but I've only ever seen one America and no other Speedmasters on the road. Anyhoo, I work down your way so wave when I pass you ;-)

You will enjoy your choice even more when you ride with your friend. I have a friend with a 2004 Road King, all the upgrades $30,000 invested, when we stop, people ask and talk about my Speedmaster!! Don't get me wrong, all bikes are great, it just makes you feel good that people like them as much as we do. happy motoring jeff

You think you're excited now? I believe that Americas come with some kind of internal excitement increaser gizmo, which seems to work exponentially and is maximized when the wheeels go round and round and round...

You'll feel even better when you and your buddy go somewhere riding. Go anywhere there are bikers - even a Harley rally - and see who's bike gets all the attention.

I love flying up Rt6 here (freshly paved cement and no cops) and blowing past those $40,000 Harley custom cookie cutter bikes.

Danny,
Now that you've purchased your new Triumph America, the only negative for which you must forever on the vigil be, are those feelings of superiority that will tend to start creeping into your psyche, and which will manifest themselves as a tendency to pity(normally of course an admirable trait, but beware the sneer that could accompany this pity) directed towards those who have spent much more of their hard-earned finances and who will seemingly never arrive to the realization that they could have purchased a machine for a whole hell of a lot less of their funds in order to attain a whole hell of a lot more "cool"(for want of a better term), not to mention, arguably a superior motorcycle.
You will probably notice by my contrite demeanor that I personally have never succumbed to these base emotions, for I am ever on the ready to deflect them, so as to remain the humble person that I am.
Cheers and welcome, Dwight
Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Danny I know how you feel. This site was a big help to me in my decision to go with the BA. I couldn't have bought a better bike. I ride with a few mates who are openly jealous of me and my BA, which is only made worse by the fact that everywhere we stop people want to talk to me and reminice about Triumphs and how good they are.
Mate you made the smart choice.
