Well, I may be a blasphemer to all of you Triumph purists, but I put a deposit down on a BMW R1100S. It can be seen at this link. Now, before I start committing motorcycle adultry with this BMW, I want to reassure you all that my years riding my Speedy have been precious years. But since my Speedy is harmed, I JUST GOTTA GET OUT IN THE OPEN AIR AGAIN!!! Can you find it in you hearts to forgive me for what I'm about to do? Sincerely, -BT

No problem here at least it isn't rice. Remember friends don't let friends ride rice. I too own a BMW. Its a great fun little bike and very dependable.

That's a sweet looking ride!
After the buggy is done, you are still planning on putting the speedy back together right? So whats the problem?

I've been on a few R1100S's............ Great bike. WE just sold a used one that only had about 800 miles on it in showroom condition. I did the first service on it about 5 months ago. He traded it in on a new F800. Real fun bike once you get use to it. Laser and Two Brothers make real nice slip on cans that give it a killer sound. Great choice of bikes. Good luck with it........... enjoy Quote:

So Mark, what you are really saying is that you'll have a bike to ride to Idaho this summer?

BT I can forgive you...... but i have been seduced by the darker side!!! EFI, Water cooling, bodywork/fairing. Mind you at least I have stayed "in House". Pick up a shiney new Tiger next Friday. Sad thing is the Speedmaster has to go as two bikes is not and option at home. I've had the speedy 3 1/2 yrs 17,000 miles(been nowhere!) just chillin and enjoying local rides. So we are having a ride out Sunday and/or Monday me and Speedy. dearly love the cruiser but need a little bit of fresh whilst waiting for the "bigger" cruiser, R3 is a bit old hat done it!! and the new Tiger really hit the spot on a demo ride monday week did 152 miles and felt fresh as a daisy. Hope I am forgiven as well but will still be throwing in my few penneth on this site. Cheers, Mike.

I had a couple bummers, R75 and R90/S. Got a nosebleed every time I climbed up on the seat too fast.

Soren, Yes, YES, I do have a bike for the invasion. And although it's not my Speedy, it's also not a rice-burner from Nippon. BTW, I'm picking the new rig up in Portland next week. I wasn't going to consider any rig with a sportbike position, - but when I went to this website I realized I could easily alter the stooped-over sportbike position. But then overcoming the perceived snobbery that goes along with owning a Beemer must be overcome by me being the toothless, illiterate, right-wing, hillbilly-redneck that I am naturally. -BT PS - I still have your "Cummins NW" business card in my wallet.

As long as your're riding!
When are you coming down here? What dealer are you getting your bike from? Let me know.
All the info on that card is still good.

Hey, man, you can ride whatever you want. BMW makes great motorcycles. Almost bought one instead of my TBA. But now you gotta change your handle. Ain't no Beemer rider on the planet deserving of the name "Bikerthug." I recommend "BeemerThug."

FriarJohn, That's one of the things I don't want, namely, the stigma of being some limp-wristed Beemer-snob. I feel the need to compensate somehow, because I don't like that stereotype (maybe I should pack heat). Soren, I'm buying it from a private party down there in Portland (an Architect). This guy that owns two Beemers (the other is a R1200GS) and finds himself not riding the one I going to buy. BTW, I almost bought this Moto-Guzzi Titanium, which also wouldv've been sweet. The Guzzi actually would've been closer to my Speedy (with the way it felt). It has a lot of nice extras, but my course is set. Simmer, As long as I still own my harmed Speedy, I have a "right-of-passage" on this board. When I do get to working on it, I am going to do a complete and total tear-down (even media-blast & powdercoat the frame). I have some damage that requires alot of disassembly (even though the motor is a perfect Wiseco 904cc, British-Custom cam, five-angle head-job motor). [sigh!].
