Finally made it and am a proud and pleased citizen of SC. My compadres in CT and other colder climes will be pleased to note that I celebrated my new SC license tag with a 75 mile scoot on Kathie (03TBA). Only problem encountered was a sunburn...guess I'm just not ready for 82 degrees in March. SteveB

Congrats on getting out of town.Just sorry we never got a chance to ride.I'm hoping to leave the "great decline" someday, but for now I'm rooted.

Congrats. My daughter in Charleston, SC converted a vehicle reg & CT driver's license both to SC credentials in around a half hour, as compared to the x number of trips back & forth to the CT DMV that it takes here in Yankee land. Enjoy the weather, (just shuddup about it, K? ) We had snow here today.

Check this out: Registered four cars, one bike, my wife and I both got licenses issued, registered to vote in...one hour, including a short wait while they solved a computer glitch. What do you think that would have taken in CT? Hopefully, will see you guys down here and I promise you no more weather comments. SteveB

Aw, go ahead and torture us. I'm used to it. My expatriate former Yankee daughter does every other day anyway. "Went to the beach today, hope the snow wasnt too deep." "Hardy har har."
All that would've have taken a month in CT... IF, you're lucky.

Snow flurries here now.

Dealing with the NYSDMV is bad enough, try moving to NY from Mass where the bank keeps the car title till you're paid up. There's faxing involved... several trips, people "checking the machine to see if it's here yet", etc. Not fun.

Steve,
You S**K.
Two offers on the house full asking price, only problem they both want Hubbard clause's. We have 11 shownings this Sat..
When I was there last week it was like July in CT. but in March 75 at 11:00 at night. All the trees were in full bloom and all the flowers were out. Not a bud on a tree yet colder than s**t and snow flurries all day.
May the fleas of a 1,000,000 camels invade your new home.
Hey, PM me your new number, is the cell # the same. Say Hi to Carol see you in a few weeks,

Welcome to The South and SC. If you ever feel like riding down I’m about 90 miles south of you.

hmmmmmmmmmm? It was 70dF yesterday, oh and the m/c plate cost ~$36 for a permanent aka "lifetime" sticker.
Keyboard torture and false condolences have no place on this board, just ask the Arizona/New Mexico boys & girls (this July )

SteveB, As for the DMV stuff, I heard that both the Carolinas charge really high fees to transfer your titles and such? Someone once told me they spent about $500 to register their bike the first time because of this.
A word to the wise is not necessary. It is the stupid ones who need the advice.

Give me a chance to finish un-packing and I'll be there. Aiken has been highly recommended as a scenic ride. I'll be in touch and thanks for the welcome. SteveB

Don't know about North Carolina but my cost in SC to register the four cars and bike was $195.00 including fees for new titles. Now, there is also the TAXES on the vehicles which are paid to the county. That costs $767.00 and that money goes into the general fund for schools, roads, sewers, etc. based on 5% of the value of the vehicles. Since everyone with a vehicle pays this, the property taxes are less for homeowners, in my case they're only $980.00 per year vs. the $6000.00 I was paying in CT. They valued the '03TBA at $4350 by the way. Anyways...I still think I'm way ahead from CT. SteveB
