For two and a half years I have been using Bel Ray chain lube, but this time when I went to the dealer to buy another can they did not have it and the man said that he liked Maxima better and was not ordering Bel Ray anymore. So I bought a can of Maxima. As usual I cleaned the chain real well and then sprayed the Maxima on. It seems to go into the links better and not stay on the outside surfaces as much as the Bel Ray. It seems the chain is more quiet and the lube is not as gummy.

Been using the Maxima since probably mid-80's. I've always been satisfied and just as importantly - I LOVE THE SMELL OF THAT STUFF!!! Call me crazy. I can't explain it - I just do.

I put 20 thousand miles on my chain during the past 18 months and have NEVER cleaned it. I do spray on chain wax and wipe it off though. Simple huh? Toss the belray. Maxima chain wax is the next best thing to a scott oiler.

My dealer turned me on to Maxima - it's what they use. My chain has over 7000 miles on it and looks like new. About every 1000 miles I take an old towell soaked in kerosine and grip the chain while spinning the wheel (on my lift). Wipe off with a dry part of the towell and re-wax. It also doesn't get all over my wire wheels or rims. I spin the wheel and spray it about every 500 miles - great stuff.

Like oil, filters, and other "stuff" - everybody has their favorites. I quit using Maxima because it builds up in the drive sprocket area and makes a slimy mess.
