Went to Wal Mart this afternoon and got mobbed by a couple of old timers who I had a hard time convincing this is a newer bike. Heard some cool stories about home garage bike building on old Triumphs from them. The pipe wraps are what caught their eye before anything else stood out to them.

Why would you want you headers to look like your Granny's supp-hose? Am I missing some Southern tradition that never made it to the Pacific NW??

No southern tradition that I know of, although it was more popular among the racing crowds of days gone by. Do a search on Google and you'll find plenty of articles with testimonials to support its worth.

As to looks, I prefer the old school look, and the more like an old flat dirt or hard track racer the better for me. I'm not into a lot of chrome...just my quirk. I thing it's become a "standard" of bikes today to be just as flashy as you can get them...but to each their own, and I'd never rag on someone's bike just because they had it chromed out.

did you have to remove any of the pipe shrouds on the manafolds or by the foot peg connections? or did you just wrap around it?
thanks,

I wrapped around everything...shrouds and all. That way if I ever want to go back to normal, I can.

Nice Look! Almost like your bike's so wicked it has to have the headers wrapped. Does this cut down on heat coming off the header? Or is it cooler to the touch? What I am getting at: Will I burn myself if I grab it?
I gotta head to Dahlonega, Georgia (as soon as my 17y.o birthday girl gets up - so I can enjoy her birthday breakfast party). See Ya!

Thanks to everyone for the positive comments...Skillet as to your questions, yes it definitely cuts down on the heat I normally felt on the inside of my legs and the material is made so that is actually cools down to the touch more quickly than metal alone. I haven't touched it with bare hands, but it definitely doesn't radiate the heat I used to feel from the pipes. Have fun at the rally...sucks cause I'm in Georgia already but had a mass tactical airborne drop today that my superiors wouldn't let me out of...so I'm afraid I'm missing this one.
