I know there are a couple different places this can go but since you all hit the lounge first, here's where im puttin it.
Most all of you have been on the road already, how many have checked your tire preassure? I looked and felt mine and hit the road. Checked em last night and they were embarssingly low. I do that every frickin year, you think I'd learn by now....
If you have a spring check thingie post it, might help a brother out.

If there's one thing I've learned, there's some things I'll never learn. Good reminder

Yes, check it before your first spring ride and at least a couple of times a week during riding season.
Ride safe!

Checked mine last Saturday, and will do it about once a month until riding season is over.

Usually the first thing I do when Spring is starting to roll around is change the oil (especially since my bike has to live outside).

One more thing... check all your electrical connections.

And make sure the fuel petcock is in the On pos and not off.

I have done that a few times......exit a parking lot and go a short ways...roll on the throttle smoothly expecting that classic wave of pure Triumphant pleasure and ......WHAAAaa....ooooozip.

Actually I didn't. Mistake I know and I do know better. All 4 tires were low. Wendys front being the worst at a little over 20 psi. In the old chopper I used to run 10psi to cushon the hard tail. I have heard from several people that America wheels are notorious for losing air.

I usually hit the lounge last

I went out once before checking too, mine were around 26 or 7... Luckily it was only a run down to the dealer around the corner.

Try installing a set of these.

You can get these at most Auto Part stores. They also make 36psi caps, which I have on my Truck.

I own a towing co. It's the rims not anything to do with the valves. I change tires regularly I have a Hoffman rim clamp tire machine and all the tools I need to do any repair short of retread. I never looked into where in the wheel it leaks but I would imagine around the spokes and as far as Speedmaster goes. It is common knowlege among mechanics that alloy wheels are often pourous enough to allow air to actually pass through the rim. Also there is the question of temp. cold = less pressure hot = more. Low quality tubes will seep air through the rubber too many don't know that or about the alloy wheels.

Buy one of these and snug up your valve cores....

I have one of those, only it looks like a miniature rubber-handled screwdriver and rightfully belongs in my dad's toolbox. From the looks of the thing, it might have belonged in his dad's toolbox. Generational thievery

LOL It is used for more than that. It rethreads the inside of the stem or the valve cap too also rethreads outside of the valve stem or thread it on a valve stem and pull it through the rim. and installs and removes valve core ( including tightening it)

My dad replaced the alloys on his Jetta when I was a kid with steel rims for that reason. Never held air. Looking back, I would think that allow rims would tend to "chip" or scratch more than bend, so little nicks in the bead sealing surface could be more troublesome than on a steel rim.

I don't think there's a mass produced tube or tire made that doesn't slowly leak air throughout the entire mass of rubber.

This is where the Nitrogen shines - the molecules are too big to leak out through the rubber.
