Can anyone recommend a good sissy bar bag? I'm looking for one that can be used behind the sissy bar (resting on the luggage rack) and in front of the sissy bar doubling as a backrest (when I'm without passenger).

Thanks,
John M.

I looked at the Kuryaken Gran Tour bag last Friday when I was buying a rain suit. It is not as big as I thought it would be. But it can be used in front of the sissy bar and behind. It has a detachable pad when in front so it can be used as a back rest. It is a little pricey at $169.

I suspect the two requests will be mutually exclusive....

If you have a proper Triumph rack it has a sticker on that says max load 3kg. (I know it'll take more, but I'm trying to be resposible - and then no one can blame me when they've overloaded it and it's broken off!!) To have a bag that is big enough to be a back rest when not on the rack, that's gonna weigh about 3 kg in it's own rght!

I have a couple of bags, both are from www.jafrum.com and while I haven't used my enormous one (I bought them while I was on a downer and waiting for the insurance claim to be sorted out so I could buy the 06, and it was at the end of the rally season in the UK - retail therapy...) the little one I got that does fit on the rack I'd recommend to anyone. I don't just use it - I abuse it. I carry my general crap in it to work and then load it up with my work kit and use it to carry that around... it's about 8 kilos in total. and it's still ok after 6 months.

Gina 03 America - Pretty stock - except the TBS wheel... 06 America - missing, presumed in bits. With it's TBS wheel... 09 America - It's very blue....

I have a Jafrum which I haven't used yet but looks handy.
Also, a Saddlemen for overnight trips which is really nice, and a smaller Willie & Max bag for day-to-day stuff.

I have the large Tour Master two piece bag. The round one rolls down and functions like a back rest when I flip the large bag forward. I think it was a bit over $100 bucks.

I use a gym bag with bungie cords on my Triumph rack for daily usage carrying my workout gear. (pair of shoes, socks, two towels, t-shirts and toiletries. I paid $20.00 bucks on sale for the bag at Target. It srikes me that there are many cheaper alternatives than the pricy "made for motorcyle use specialty bags"

I ordered some K-Drive bags that will increase the cargo capacity of those bags over the cheapie Triumph slant panniers....and I can always go to Wally world and or Target and find a larger bag to strap to the rack with a bungee.
