Great stuff guys. Thanks for not taking what I've said as a personal shot cos that was not my intention. It's one of those sticky areas where people who are built a little larger may not appreciate it. Really though, the topic of the Corbin comes up time and time again and there must be a reason why some just don't find them comfortable. Now if I paid the big bucks for a seat that didn't come up to scratch in the comfortability steaks, I too would not be a happy camper. There's also the fact that buying stuff online has it's draw backs cos you can't test ride before you purchase unless you know someone with the same bike and seat. So perhaps as a means of assisting those considering a Corbin but not knowing if they'll like it, as suggested, by Phil we do a "butt width survey and correlate it to Corbin satifaction". So is there anyone out there who have slightly larger bot bots compared to lets say, "average" and how did you find the seat regarding being comfortable or not. Maybe if there is something to this we'll help other's who have big botties so that they don't have to waste their time and they can look at other options? so bring on the "Big Bottied Bikers Survey" to assist others in finding their premium seating arrangement, cos it just may not be the Corbin. It's just an idea

I think a "bony butt factor" survey will be more relevant than width. Every time I sit on my corbin, I feel like I'm putting on an old pair of shoes, they fit JUST right. But I still get an achey butt after a few hours. I just don't think my arse was meant to sit in one position for that long, period.

Thanks Ben,
I'll put your comment down as as a positive for the survey.
So far then it looks like this:
2 small butts (including mine) love their Corbins
Still waiting for replies from our bigger butted friends.

Homemade driver's backrest bolts to passenger pillon holes where handstrap was. Uses an L bracket from a hardware store, and a small sissybar pad from the junk yard, covered in leather. Total cost about $70, most of that for the professional leather work. The thinner the backrest pad the better, so it does not push you forward into the narrower bottom part of the driver's saddle:

I live close to the factory in Hollister CA. They make adjustments for the first year of owning the seat. It's best that you have the bike there during fitting. I was able to have them cut the foam to the exact shape I wanted. I too, had to wrap a cloth around the front tab to eliminate wiggle. Corbin is worth a visit if you are in SF bay area!

To add to what Gangsta said, if you haven't made any adjustments to your Corbin seat, and it's been more than a year, chances are they'll still make one adjustment for free for you. I think I waited 2.5 years and they still took care of me.

Just an idea. Do you think we could mount other bike seats to our bikes? http://boston.craigslist.org/nos/mcy/331377621.htmlthis got me thinking. I know we can use some hd parts. Anyone tried seats?

Probably not. The seat pans should be very different since the frames are very different.
