The "Blue Streak" because, well, to my HD riding friends that is what it is

We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

Mine is called DD....after my dad, Donald Dean....he owned a 79 bonnie 750, I rode with him on a 70 bonnie to trade on the 79, from southern Illinois to St Louis. 25 years after his passing, (almost to the day) I went to the very same dealer and rode mine home.

Depends on how much trouble I'm having doing mods or maintenance....I can't repeat them due to the AUP! (Especially the ones I used when changing the rear tire and tube!)

But, what do I know?

Mrs. Robinson because she is so classically seductive. So, I had a few fingers of bourbon the night she got named. That had absolutely nothing to do with it.

For some reason I cannot name her. Although I have recently came to think of her as "her." If I did give her a name it would be "Mariah" there is an old song I remember part of the lyrics was "they call the wind Mariah" as good as any I guess.

I've never named a vehicle.
Well, except for the '55 Power Wagon (long gone), it was "The Beast".

My TBA is named "CUE". He got's its name from Star Trek Next Generation. A character named "CUE" had magical powers and was devious yet has admirable qualities. Also, the sales rep who sold me the bike...his nick name was also "CUE" cuase he was bald as a "CUE' ball.

His name is Speedmonster, my British Beastie. Because, I'm short, so to me it's a Beast. Then, I thought it's actually a British Beastie, (not as big as a RIII)....then Speedmonster was the natural progression.

OK, I had to look this one up, I thought it came from the epic
western "How the West Was Won". I was wrong.
It's from the 1951 Broadway Musical "Paint Your Wagon", that
was made into a movie in 1969, starring Lee Marvin, and
Clint Eastwood.

I must have seen that movie, pretty sure I did. Funny how a thing like that will stick in your head for years 38 years to be exact. That will be her name then. Mariah.

Pam (but please don't tell my wife)

When I worked on the place in Utah, there was a Hereford cow that lost her calf. We hand milked her to provide milk for other orphaned calves. Bill, the herd manager named her Heidie. One evening Heidie kicked the nearly full can over and Bill launched into a semi-controlled rant chewing Heidie out for her poor form. Little did we know, but the real Heidie and ranch owner's wife was standing just outside the shed. She kinda' smiled, although that may have been my imagination. I made myself very small, barely noticeable.

We won't tell your wife Jack, secret's safe here

I'm not really into this anthropomorphic nomination. I don't call my bike anything apart from "the bike." Significantly I have no name for the Jeep, the guitar, or the little chappie living in my trousers.

Guess I'm still just a misanthropic cynic after all.

Siggy
