Just got my new pipes from Specialty Spares, Long Cannons. I am lucky and live only about 3 miles from Dale and all I had to do was drive over and grab em. They sound greeeat and look great. Dale also supplies a jet kit with the pipes. Sounds awesome, big rumble but not too loud. I would brag a little more but the bike is calling me. Later. Check out the Web site for dales Pipes. Gary.

Congrats on the pipes, I love mine as well! Now you have to modify your air box, and then hold on tight.

I love mine. However, I didn't get a jet kit. oh well. What's in a kit, main jet and needles? Maybe I threw them away by accident?

Glad to welcome another happy Specialty Spares customer into the fold. I love my long cannons.
Dmillikan: It appears Dale doesn't provide the jet kit unless you ask. Give him call/email and I bet he'll send you the kit. (pilot & main jets only, no needles) He sent shims to one guy, but not me (I had two already).b

Dale includes a jet/shim kit that he has dyno tuned to the pipes and a Uni air filter - stock box with snorkel removed - but they are in a little baggie stuffed in the end of one of the pipes. Easy to miss. Setup is 42 pilot 132.5 mains 1 shim each needle 3 turns mixture screws.
GYA!!!
If you tossed 'em by mistake call him - he'll send you another set.
I think the best deal out there - almost a 20%HP boost. Throw the 18Tooth front sprocket on ($29.95 from Dale) and you have a brand new ride - none better!!

Installed in March. I've been very pleased with my long slash pipes from SS as well.

Yeah, for the money these are great pipes. I am still contemplating Sceptres long term, but these are very good pipes. Enjoy!

Just for fun, I pulled the baffles last night. Holy mother of God, scary-loud. Scared a little girl in my neighbor hood, she started crying and ran to her mother when I rode past at a very moderate rate (I like my neighbors). Started it up again tonight, my next door neighbor looked visibly upset. On the return trip, told him the baffles were going back in ASAP, not to worry, he seemed relieved. On then downside, putting the screws back in each baffle is a major hassle (getting the hole to line up) and not to be done with any frequency.

Al, I can put my baffles back in with ease, but there is a trick. Take a metal coat hanger and bend it out so it looks like this: Then you insert the hooked end into the baffle and slide the baffle into the pipe. Use the coat hanger to slide the baffle in and out, and twist it to line up the bolt. The hooks will hold onto the baffle nicely. Then I use a mirror on the back side of the pipe so I can see how the hold is lining up. Once it's lined up, screw it in, and then just pull hard on the coat hanger to remove it. Seriously, it takes less than 1 minute each this way. When I modified my baffles I must have pulled them 10 times in a 2 hour span before I got the sound right, and this method made it painless.

Yeah, your bike sounded pretty good Ryan at the GA rally, especially when you got on the throttle...nice rumble to it. I have to admit, I thought they sounded better than the Thunderbike pipes on Pat's bike (sorry Pat).

I used a similar method but have a long pair of hose-pliars that do the same thing. Getting that little hole to line up took a few minutes per side using a mirror. That thing sounds too good with no baffles, I have a feeling they'll be pulled occasionally.
