Just wrapped my headers with Thermo Tec exhaust wrap and thought I'd pass some tips along to anyone thinking about it. Purchased from www.SpeedZone24-7.com who had the wrap at a discount from the regular pricing on other sites.

First - Wear gloves. The material contains a fiber akin to fiberglass and while not as bad, will leave some irritating material behind for you to scratch if you don't.

Second - I ordered the company's metal clamps, but think a common hose clamp will work just as well and be easier to put on. The company ones require you to cut, insert into a keeper device and then pull tight using pliers and hand strength. They also are a one shot install...once on they're on...you have to cut them to get them off.

Third - 50 foot of the 1 inch tape just covered both my headers to the crossover tube. I wasn't short, but definitely couldn't go all the way to where my Scepters slipped on like I wanted to.

Fourth - The one inch tape gives you lots of overlap creases, but takes more time and patience to apply. Using one inch has you playing with 25' of tape back and forth around the pipe to start with, where 2" tape would only require you to need about 11' of tape for one side. I do think the one inch tape is easier to wrap around the bends in the pipe however.

Fifth - They suggested wetting the tape to make it more pliable, but I used it straight out of the box and it was fine to work with. It has the same consistency as one inch webbing you'd use to make a rappel seat out of.

Sixth - They said to crank it up for 5 minutes to cure and expect some smoke, but I never saw any, even after 10 minutes of running. Don't know what to say about that, except maybe they expected them to be wet. I did not order their Hi-Heat Coating, which I will do now. It seals the material and keeps it from getting wet when it rains, etc.

Overall, easy job that took about one hour total. It gives (in my opinion) the Speedmaster a bad ****** go-to-the-strip attitude look, and hopefully keeps the heat down around the legs in the middle of summer.

Didn't take any last night cause it got dark on me as I finished. I'll take some this afternoon and post them.
